69 Kind Of Ugly (2/2)

”Shut up, it's still the same century.”

Every morning, Arius would send Zuna a text. Today's text was [Even if the sky came falling down], and the response left Arius full of  sorrow.

[If you were chicken little, I would believe you.] And it could technically mean two things, and neither made Arius especially happy.

”Focus of drving!” Asrael scolded from the passenger seat.

”What's the point? We're both immortal.” Arius glanced at Asrael amusedly before putting his phone down.

”Crashing is still an inconvenience.”

”I find that insulting. I've been alive for thousands of years, you think I can't multitask?” Arius leaned back in his seat leisurely, forgetting the problem nagging at his heart.

Asrael furrowed his brows, taking note of the smile on Arius's face. ”What's so entertaining?”

”You.”

”Excuse me?”

”You're an interesting kid.”

Asrael rolled his eyes and gazed out the window. Arius was impossible to argue with, he didn't get mad, and worst still, he couldn't genuinely hate him. Arius was like a ray of friendliness.

After a few minutes of silence, Arius spoke again, ”We're there. Just let me park.”

”Oh, good.”

When the two got out of Arius's custom car, Asrael looked back at it.

”It's kind of ugly.” Asrael spoke.

Arius knew he was talking about his car, and all he could do was sigh. He was right, but Jane had given it to him so he refused to complain!

The building they walked into was brown with a silver lining on the edges of the rooftop. It was rather attractive.
