39 Can I refuse? (1/2)
It's the day of the engagement.
Lori is over the moon. Finally, her engagement with the man she loves. It's finally going to happen, properly, with Cheng Ze by her side.
Li Wei is not happy at all. He can see the sadness in his boss's eyes. Though Cheng Ze makes him do things that can make him end up in jail, he still cares a lot for him and still respects him.
Cheng Ze might be smiling but deep down he is hurting. If Ji An comes right now and tell him she loves him, and she wants to be with him, he will forget everything and he will go to her and run away from everyone. He doesn't care even if she's married as long as she wants him, that's good enough for him.
Of course, Li Wei cannot just stand still. He tried to get some news about Ji An. But what he found out is not worth telling his boss. The whole thing is depressing Li Wei. ”Why did he have to choose Ms Li? Of all the women, beautiful women with nice curves he dated, why does he want her?” Li Wei rumbled.
Cheng Ze heard his mumbling ”Because she is Li Ji An!”
It startled Li Wei. ”What is so special about her? You made me kidnap and drugged her, for what? To make you like this? If I had known, I wouldn't have done as you asked.” Li Wei got frustrated.
”I'm so thankful that you followed my difficult orders, you made me so happy letting her be by my side for a little time. That little time makes me feel alive. You wonder why her?” he sighs ”Because she's the only who can make me have and feel all the emotions that a man must have in his life.
His statement left Li Wei astonished. ”Then why are you doing this engagement with Ms Shen?” He wondered.
”Ji An and I....” he closed his eyes ”I guess we have to go now.” He changed the subject just like that. He opened his eyes and inhale deeply. He let out a long sigh. ”Let's make Lori happy huh'?” He can see Li Wei is not happy. ”I'm not marrying her yet. It's just an engagement! When we get married, she will be your boss too!” He tried to sound happy.
”Can I refuse? I'm fine with you, but not with her. You don't have to pretend in front me boss. I guess you're still hoping Ms Li will arrive any moment. Don't keep your hopes up. I don't want you disappointed.” Li Wei answered him.
Everyone has arrived at the venue. Lori is wearing a Rare Chanel white/gold brocade dress from 13C Versailles collection. It has a gold leather trims and belt. She looks elegant.
Cheng Ze wore an elegant tuxedo by Calvin Klein. It has satin edging and details throughout, it is modern with a trim fit, and smooth, flat-front slacks. He looks so handsome.
Loris' friend is jealous of her. To them, Lori tamed the playboy. They admire the couple as they took the stage and start the announcement.
”My dear family and friends. Thank you so much for coming and celebrating this event with us.” He looked at Lori with a smile, he held on her waist as he makes the announcement.
”Today as we get engaged for the second time, I want to apologise to her and to everyone present last time. I'm sorry if I wasn't present during the announcement. I have an urgent matter that I had to leave my own engagement.” He laughs a little ”This time it's not gonna happened. Though we are getting engaged right now, marriage will not follow soon.” He paused as people start to gossip and whisper.
