38 The only one for you (2/2)
Every time he enters that place, Ji An comes to his mind. That is the place she stayed in when she came to Beijing. Now, this should be the place to remember Lori and their engagement.
It hurts him just remembering Ji An. He loves her so much and yet he can't even have a relationship with her, at least a proper relationship. Not just sleeping with her. Everything had come to an end for them. Its time for him to completely move on from her and be happy and content with what's ahead of him which is of course Lori.
He has to stop thinking and remembering Ji An, but he can't stop his self for doing so.
Li Wei is the one who prepared everything. After a good break from work, he is completely refreshed ready to take orders from his boss. Though it surprised Li Wei to know that Cheng Ze will go ahead with his fathers' arrangements and to know that Cheng Ze and Lori is getting along pretty well. He thought his boss probably had moved on from that woman called Ji An.
Li Wei is completely aware that his boss changed after their Europe trip. He changed his behaviour to women. He doesn't go to the bar and get completely drunk and now after coming back from London, after seeing that woman got married to a different guy he seemed to have matured and ready to take over their company and manage it by his self. 'Is this what love does to you' Li Wei thought.
Gu Feng has been observing his son. He noticed he'd matured in a short period of time. He assumed it because of Lori.
He will not give Cheng Ze the company for now. He will wait until his son is fully ready and capable for the role. After all, being the big boss, he should be firm with his decisions so that his employee will respect him.
Gu Feng likes the idea of having another engagement. He is so happy that his son finally knew what's good for him. Gu Feng asks his wife Gu Mei Li to invite her daughter and son to come on such a happy event.
Obviously, Gu Mei Li refused the idea, she knows they won't bother coming. Her daughter doesn't want to know and doesn't want to be a part of the Gu family. While her son, well, nobody knows where he is. She didn't even know that her daughter got married or had a child. As a mother, she felt that she failed them big time. Their family crumbled because of her. Because of her love for Gu Feng.
As the engagement party approaches, Li Wei couldn't help it, he just couldn't shut his mouth, he has to ask his boss. ”Boss, do you want me to get some news about Ms Li?”
”No. Let her be.” He immediately replied. ”She's happy with her husband I guess. There is no point disturbing her life with unnecessary things, and as for me, well, I'm getting engaged. So why should I bother and pester her? She clearly doesn't want me. It's just me having a one-sided love.” The pain in his heart is too much. Though his face shows different, his heart is longing for her. ”Don't mention her name anymore. I don't want Lori to get upset.”
Li Wei felt sad. His boss is not like this when he's around Ms Li. He feels like his boss is trying to cope hard. He knows his boss best. What's the whole point of being with him for years if he will not know his moods. He just felt sorry for him and there is nothing he can do to help him.
