Hearing the melodious voice from the cat, Shi Li couldn't help but feel like he was in some sort of paradise. But that feeling was short-lived.
”Since you answered my question, I'll call you Moddy then.”
The reason why he called the cat Moddy was that it was easier to memorize. And because he had bad naming sense, given by the fact he named his cat from his previous life a name that didn't suit it.
Standing up, he looked at the eye's map and confirmed that the yellow blinking dot was in the center area.
”Now...where's the Ruin Forest Wood?” Shi Li muttered.
As if hearing Shi Li's question, Moddy headed towards the wood it was tapping on earlier and stood on top of it, catching Shi Li's attention.
The wood was quite long, reaching a length of over 40 meters. It was not thick, but it gave the feeling of being indestructible from its bark alone. The bark was pitch black, giving off a sleek aura instead of a chilling one.
The inside of the wood was slightly rotten on the ends, but it allowed Shi Li to see the previous vitality of the tree. Multiple rings circled the center of the wood, showing the age of the tree before it was cut. The insides were colored a light gray, complementing the dark bark.
Seeing that Moddy was on top of the wood, Shi Li pondered for a bit before exclaiming in shock.
”Is that the Ruin Forest Wood?!”
Moddy tapped on the wood, resonating a deep and thumpy sound a few meters in radius around the wood. It was a sign that Moddy said yes.
Moddy was something he had just seen in this center area, so he still had some doubts if he could trust it.
”Then again, cultivation is all about risks right?” Shi Li lightly chuckled.
He went closer to the wood Moddy stood on top on and examined it with his eye.
'Identify.'

A type of wood only available in the center of the Forest of Ruin. Holds a small amount of the essence of lesser space, thus making its color monotone.

Shi Li was left with his jaw hanging. He looked at Moddy as he couldn't explain what he was feeling. But fortunately, the creator of the universe [1] can with its all-seeing eyes. Shi Li was feeling a mix of shock, disbelief, excitement, and awe as he looked at Moddy.
”It is the Ruin Forest Wood!” Shi Li jumped up in joy as he looked at the wood that was in front of him.
”I could now unlock the Storage function!” Shi Li came closer to the wood and placed his hands under it, trying to get a good grip.
All of a sudden, a displeased sound could be heard.
”Nya.”
Shi Li looked at Moddy that was emanating a feeling of being unsatisfied. He shrugged his shoulders before continuing to lift the wood up.
”Nya!”
Moddy didn't like that the wood it used for tapping was going to be taken away. Having no choice, it tapped on the wood twice, two sounds resounding from the wood.
Bang! Bang!
The first bang was heard by Shi Li, which made his body limp in an instant, made him look back at Moddy with shock.
The second bang made Shi Li fly a few meters from the wood, giving him slight injuries.
Shi Li hurriedly stood up and dusted his robe as he looked at Moddy with a frown.
”Why'd you do that?”
Moddy made an angry face and replied.
”Nya! Nya nya, nya nya! Nya nya!”
Hearing Moddy's answer, Shi Li slapped himself in the face. He forgot he was talking to a cat.
'But its intelligence is higher than mine, so it could probably understand what I'm saying,' Shi Li pondered at his current situation. 'But how do I understand what it's saying?'
After a few seconds of silence, he slapped himself in the face again. In an instant, his pupils turned crimson red, showing that Shi Li was going to use the eye again.
'What price do I have to pay to understand that cat's language?'
In a few seconds, a white screen appeared in front of his face rather than a translucent screen he used to get once he entered the forest.
'The screen type probably means something,' Shi Li had this thought but he pushed this in the back of his head the instant information was revealed on the screen.

Seeing that the price was just simple for him to pay, he came closer to Moddy, who had its face tilted as it looked at Shi Li with curiosity.
Shi Li raised his hand up before apologizing to Moddy.
”I'm sorry. I have to do this so we could understand each other better.”
Moddy was still processing what Shi Li said before it felt a small pain from one of its ear. Shi Li pulled out a strand of its fur, causing it to screech.
