Forest of Ruin, the center area.

Rhythmic tapping could be heard throughout. It was a deep and thumpy sound, making someone's body shake to the beat once they hear it. This sound came from a rather hollow wood. The wood was pitch black in color, but it wasn't in a state of being burnt, rather it grew that way.

This wood was being used as some sort of drum by a creature that was unique in shape. It was quite round, but not to the point that the body was a perfect sphere. Its body was covered in soft white fur as two small triangular ears that had soft fur on its tips were found on the top of its head. Its eyes were similar to small buttons, but rather than looking dull, it glistened with light, showing its vitality and happiness. Its mouth was shaped like the letter W, making the creature's face look extremely adorable.

Its paws looked like small white stubs of soft fur, where under the paw was a pawprint that was pink in color.

This creature was a cat.

It continued to tap its paws on the wood, a constant beat filling the empty surroundings. Gradually, an invisible barrier appeared just right at the border of the center area and the inner depths, not allowing those beasts from the inner depths to enter.

'If a human comes here, even if it was accidental, I'm gonna make sure that I follow that person. My life has been boring for a long time already,' the cat continued tapping on the wood as a smile was plastered on its face.

Out of nowhere, the barrier surrounding the border was infiltrated, alerting the cat as it was still tapping the wood. The cat turned its head around and in an instant, its eyes gleamed with delight.

A human!

'Today must be my lucky day!' the cat shouted inwardly.

Seeing the human, the cat stopped tapping on the wood, deciding to come closer to the human, wanting to get a better look.

…

A cat.

...was now staring at my face.

Shi Li looked at the cat and saw that it didn't really mean harm unlike the other beasts. Instead, it just looked at Shi Li peacefully, rubbing its body onto Shi Li every now and then.

If he still had stamina, he would instantly stand up and run away from the cat as it moved weirdly. But with him using almost all his stamina in exchange for a movement speed boost, he couldn't help but think otherwise.

'Why is this cat here?' this question formed in Shi Li's mind within a few seconds.

Being extremely curious, he wondered if he could use the eye to identify the cat in front of him just like how he could identify books with the eye.

'Identify.'

Seeing that there was no response, Shi Li sighed inwardly. But not long after, a translucent screen appeared in front of his face, shocking him greatly.

'What?! It actually works on living creatures?!' Shi Li was dumbfounded. With new things being shown to him, of course he had to ask questions so he doesn't ask them again.

'What are stats?'

Stats are the manifestation of the creature's overall capacity in terms of combat. The stats can be classified into five: Vitality, Strength, Defense, Agility and Intelligence.

These stats range from C to S, with each letter being split into below the letter (-), just the letter, and above the letter (+). Which means the stats can range from C- to S+, with S+ being highest...for the current cultivation realm of the creature. Once the creature breaks through to a higher realm, these stats shall change.
