206 Mustered His Courage (1/2)
Lin Mingyue felt lightheaded as another scene ran through her head. This time, she saw an image of a young lady with her shoulder red with blood. A man, dressed in black was looking at the lady's injured shoulder anxiously.
Although she could not see the man's face, Mingyue could tell that the man was the same man who had appeared in her vision a few times.
The scenes go as quickly as they came. Once the image disappeared, Mingyue staggered backward and Yang Yun had pulled her into his arms to prevent her from falling.
”Are you alright?” Yang Yun asked.
Mingyue nodded. ”Just a bit lightheaded. It's fine.” she put a hand on Yang Yun's arm to assure him.
Yang Yun frowned at her reply. He looked around and saw a bench in the garden. ”Let's sit down for a while,” he suggested. Before Mingyue could decline, he added, ”I won't be at ease to let you climb up the stairs when you're looking like this.”
Mingyue glanced at Yang Yun and sighed helplessly. ”With the way you acted now, sooner or later, I'm going to think that you didn't want to be apart from me,” Mingyue said, laughing. Then, she let him led her towards the bench and waited for Yang Yun to sit beside him.
Yang Yun stayed silence for a long time that Mingyue started to feel that her joke was inappropriate.
”What if it's true? What if I want to spend more time with you?”
”Huh?”
Yang Yun's voice was too soft. For a second, Lin Mingyue wondered if she had misheard things. Her head turned to look at Yang Yun, and that man was looking at the dark sky. When she saw that Yang Yun was not looking at her, Lin Mingyue sighed with relief.
Perhaps she did mishear things.
Mingyue decided to dismiss her thought. She followed Yang Yun's gaze to look at the sky and smiled.
After a long silence between them, Yang Yun spoke again. ”Mingyue?”
”Yes?”
Yang Yun watched her from the corner of his eyes. Then, he clenched his fist as he began to think of his thought before he found out that Mingyue's shoulder was injured. Yang Yun mustered his courage and said, ”I like you.”
Her eyes went wide. ”Ah?”

Mingyue wondered if she had misheard things again. She turned to look at him, and Mingyue stared into his dark eyes as she sought confirmation for her uncertainty. When their gaze met, Mingyue could tell that she did not hear things.
”I like you a lot,” he repeated.
Her heart started to beat irregularly. Mingyue thought that her heart was beating too loud that she could hear the sound of it thumping.
