205 Acting Like a Coward (1/2)

Yang Yun heaved a sigh when he saw that his wife was alright. ”You should pay attention to your surroundings,” he reminded her. He examined her shoulder and was relieved when he could not see anything wrong with it.

Lin Mingyue bit her lips when she saw his reprimanding expression. How could she tell him that she was in a daze because she could not look away from him earlier? He was too good looking. And then, the headache came.

It seemed that the sudden flashes of images followed by a headache appeared more frequent these days. Worried that something was wrong with her body, Mingyue made a promise to go for a check-up the next morning.

”I'm sorry. I will be more careful next time,” Mingyue said. She tilted her head up and held her breath. It was then that she noticed how close they were. One of his hands was holding her wrist, and the other circled her waist. It seemed that they were hugging on the street.

Mingyue sensed that the passerby was staring at them. Subconsciously, she lowered her head, and her face was buried in Yang Yun's chest again. Because Mingyue was holding her milk tea on the one hand and Yang Yun was holding the other hand, Mingyue had no way to push him away.

She licked her lips and spoke, ”That, you-you can let me go now.”

”Sorry,” Yang Yun took a step back and released her from his hand. Instantly, he felt that something was missing. He wished that he can pull her into his arm again. He did not know how long he can hold on to pretend living like this.

Yang Yun clenched his hand into a fist to control his emotion.

Meanwhile, Lin Mingyue sip at her milk tea slowly. Once she was sure that her emotion was in control, Mingyue turned to Yang Yun and smiled. However, her smile faded as she recalled something.

She was too excited when she saw the short queue at her favorite milk tea shop. In the end, she forgot to get one cup for Yang Yun. Mingyue glanced at the milk tea in her hand and then back to Yang Yun. ”Do you want some?”

Yang Yun shook his head and smiled. ”No. You drink.”

”Okay,” Mingyue lowered her head as she sipped her milk tea silently. Her head replayed the scenes again. He shouted her name to warn her. From the way he called her name, Mingyue could detect his anxiety and knew Yang Yun was concerned that something might happen to her.

He dashed across the road to get to her side. And then, he pulled her into his arms. Mingyue could not deny how good it felt in his arm.

She swallowed when she thought of his hard muscle under his shirt. It was not like she had never seen his body before.

The first time he arrived at the hospital after an accident, Lin Mingyue had seen his body. At that time, she was worried about his condition, but that did not stop her from appreciating his body. On his well-carved body were a few old scars. Looking at those scares, Mingyue could tell that they were from weapons such as knives and arrows. She wondered how did Yang Yun get those scars on his body.

Her cheek blushed again when Mingyue realized how improper her thoughts were. Why did she think about his muscles?

After five minutes of walking, Mingyue realized that she had stopped at a building entrance. She looked at Yang Yun and said, ”Well, we're here.”

”You live here?” Yang Yun glanced at the building and frowned. Looking at Lin Mingyue's place, Yang Yun knew that this building would not pass Xue Yi Ming's definition of secure.

Yang Yun had followed Xue Yi Ming long enough to understand how a safe and secure building should look like. There was no security guard or enough CCTV around Mingyue's place. Even the staircase was dark.

Mingyue pushed a few strands of hair behind her ear. ”Thank you for walking me home. Then, I better get going.”
