Pei Xiuyuan lay down next to her and held her in his arms. She did not want to allow it so she struggled. But it was of no use, so she just let him be.

“I am sorry.” Pei Xiuyuan knew that she was wronged and that it was unfair to her to do so. He would send any other person to death without hesitation. However, this very person was his sister.

He had promised his sister to love and care for her forever, how could he do that to her now?

The helplessness and regret in his voice made Lu Man think that she had gone overboard.

“You do not have to apologize. It was not your fault. I know that what I have said made things hard for you.” Wang Yunxi was his sister. In a reversed role, if her sister had done something wrong, she would not have allowed other people to harm her sister as well.

“It was my fault.” He had never thought that his sister could do such a thing, so he did not manage to protect her well.

In Pei Xiuyuan’s knowledge, Wang Yunxi was just a wilful child but she was not bad. He had never thought that she would do such a terrible thing.

“Never mind. By the way, I need to thank you. Thank you for saving me.” He could not fulfill her wish but she did not want to make him feel bad about it. It was he who had saved her anyway.

When she said such understanding words, Pei Xiuyuan was not happy at all.

It was because she was keeping the distance between them when she said those words. She was still seeing him as an outsider.

‘Thank you. Do you need to thank your husband when he saves you?’

“Manman…”

“I am tired,” she said and closed her eyes.

Pei Xiuyuan knew she was trying to avoid the topic, but she really was tired. So he stopped talking.

Her attitude made him realize that their relationship that he had worked hard on for over a month was back to ground zero. But he was not in a hurry as they had a lifetime to build it.

So many things happened today. Lu Man was exhausted, but she could not sleep.

She was angry every time she thought of Wang Yunxi.

Thinking that they would meet frequently in the future, she felt even worse.

She just wanted to be happy. But now she had to face the person who had harmed her and on top of that, she had to pretend to be happy when she was not happy at all!

Why did God play such a prank, making Pei Xiuyuan her brother?

As she was thinking, her body gradually relaxed. She was really very tired that she had fallen asleep after thinking about everything that had happened.

When her breathing slowed to a constant, Pei Xiuyuan opened his eyes.

On the next day, Wang Yunxi and Mu Yunhai woke up and got ready to go for their honeymoon. But when they opened the door, PA Wang was already standing at the door, waiting.

“Miss, President Pei wants to see you now.”

“What for?” What was the matter that her brother would ask his personal assistant to invite her?

“You will know once you get there.”

“I do not have time. He knows that we are going on our honeymoon!” Wang Yunxi knew it was probably about what happened yesterday. He must be wanting to give her a lesson. It would definitely be bad so she better get away with it now!

“President Pei has already canceled your honeymoon trip. Please come with me now, Miss.” PA Wang spoke very politely, but his tone did not allow her any room to refuse.

Sure enough, like master like man.

“He has canceled our honeymoon trip? Why?” Wang Yunxi was upset. How could her brother cancel the trip without telling her?

“As for the reason, you can ask him yourself.”

Seeing how persistent he was, Wang Yunxi had a bad feeling. She did not want to meet her brother at all.
