If he wanted to go out through the other door in the mortuary, he would need to find the other key. They didn’t manage to find any clues about it earlier so the key must be hidden somewhere in the mortuary.

Meng Xin’s face was also faintly pale. She and Cheng Zhi Chu looked at each other and they both activated their clue prompt skill. There was a total of three lights and, unsurprisingly, two of them came from within the freezer cabinets and one came from an old public telephone hanging from the wall.

The two sisters bit onto the lips and nodded. Together with Ji Yun Xiao, they walked over to a cabinet on one side and Cheng Zhi Chu and Bai Yi went to the other.

Fortunately, the cabinet that had emitted light was located at the very end. After confirming that there wasn’t anything dangerous next to the cabinet, Cheng Zhi Chu knelt down and began to examine it.

The first thing that he noticed was the card that was in the card slot on the cabinet door. The words on it were still legible and it recorded the name of the person who had passed away.

Cheng Zhi Chu’s eyes widened slightly. For some reason, he felt that the name seemed a little familiar but when he looked at the time when the body was stored, he saw that it was from more than a decade ago. He was also certain that he didn’t see a name like this in the list of the fatalities from the elevator accident.

During his stay at the hospital, he had never been to the mortuary and he didn’t remember anyone mentioning this name so why does it sound so familiar……….?

At this moment, Cheng Zhi Chu seemed to hear the voice that had been constantly calling out to him in his mind.

This time he heard it even more clearly. The voice seemed to be closer to him and he could clearly tell that the voice belonged to a young man.

The sound rang next to his ear and it called out his name with a voice filled with deep attachment and gentle like a soft dream-like whisper.

<Xiao Chu, come here.>

Several degrees of shock flitted through Cheng Zhi Chu’s eyes. He couldn’t help but reach over to pull the card out of the slot and hold it tightly in his hands.

Under the bright sun, that figure stood against the light so you couldn’t see his true appearance. You could only see that he was wearing a white and loose patient gown and vaguely the lower half of his face. His jawline was soft and beautiful, and his neck was pale and clear to the point that it looked slightly transparent.

The pale lips opened slightly, and it called out his name with a hint of a smile.

<Xiao Chu………>

“Yuan…….”

Cheng Zhi Chu’s eyes widened. He subconsciously called out.

“…….Brother Yuan Huai.”

“RIIING———–”

The shill ring from the telephone sounded abruptly, breaking the dead silence in the mortuary and surprising the Meng sisters and Ji Yun Xiao. The three of them looked over at the public telephone on the wall with dread.

The moment the phone rang, the bear in Cheng Zhi Chu’s pocket suddenly shrank itself and started to tremble. It looked extremely scared. It plunged its head into the depths of his pocket and only revealed its fluffy backside and its trembling tail.

“Zhi Chu.”

Bai Yi’s eyes were deep and dark, and his expression was as cold as ice. He reached out to Cheng Zhi Chu’s shoulder and gently called out to him, but Cheng Zhi Chu continued to remain in daze while softly mumbling something.

The phone continued to ring. It was as if it would continue to ring if no one picked it up.

Bai Yi sneered a little. He lifted Cheng Zhi Chu up and brought him over to the phone. He then picked up the phone, but he didn’t bring it over to his ear and just held it in the air.

After the phone was picked up, there was a faint sound of electricity coming from inside the phone. Bai Yi held the phone and listened on without speaking a word. After a while, the sound of electricity weakened and something else could be heard from within.

Bai Yi sneered. With a look of disgust, he returned to phone back to the hook and hung up the phone.

He looked over at Cheng Zhi Chu next to him. That lovely and cute face of his continued to maintain a look of confusion. It was as if he was immersed inside some kind of memory and he continued to grip tightly onto Xie Yuan Huai’s name card in his hand.

Bai Yi stretched his hand over and gently pried away his fingers from the card. The card fell to the ground, but Bai Yi didn’t go to pick it up.

“………”

The handsome man lowered his eyes and his eyelashes obscured his dark pupils. With his thumb, he rubbed the centre of Cheng Zhi Chu’s palm. At the beginning, it was very gentle, but it gradually become stronger and stronger until the centre of his palm had turned a soft pink.

But he still didn’t have any hint of a smile on his face. His eyes became more and more oppressive. He eventually lifted Cheng Zhi Chu’s hand and dropped a soft kiss onto Cheng Zhi Chu’s palm.

“Be good.”

The man gently kissed as dark aura emanated from his body. From between his thin lips, a faint whisper was heard.

“Don’t touch those dirty things.”
