Chapter 52 (2/2)

She could only put down the hand that was about to tear the pages off the book before she turned to the first page of the book. After that, she picked up a pen and started to copy the textbook obediently.

After copying the first sentence in the textbook, Gu Anhao felt as though the sun was already about to set. She was even more frustrated when she thought about copying the book twenty times. Gu Anhao picked up the English textbook before slamming it on the table twice to release her anger.

Even though she was making a ruckus in the study room, there was no sound or response from the living room. Zuo Hancheng was clearly ignoring her.

Anhao then yelled in grief and indignation, “Zuo Hancheng, you are really cruel and inhumane! You are trying to kill me!”

Zuo Hancheng replied immediately from the living room in a faint but deep voice, “What is this little punishment compared to your plan of following your husband to the hotel to secretly take pictures in order to sell it to the media for ten million yuan? As your husband, I am suffering from a psychological trauma because of your actions.”

‘Psychological trauma? My as*!’

He was clearly taking advantage of this opportunity to teach her a lesson!

Anhao calmed herself down as she rested her head on the textbook.

She would rather get beaten up by Mrs. Gu and Gu Shishi than copy the English textbook twenty times. Who would be able to save her now?

Later that night, Anhao’s eyes were already red because she had been copying the English textbook for almost the entire day. Therefore, she had a pitiful expression on her face, but Zuo Hancheng did not go into the study room to look at her even once.

Anhao was feeling very desperate when her cell phone suddenly rang. She looked at her cell phone immediately and noticed that the name ‘Mobai’ was displayed on the caller ID. She quickly picked up her cell phone and answered the call. Mobai was calling to look for her and not Zuo Hancheng. This was her one and only chance to say that she needed to go out to get something done!

Therefore, she put the phone to her ear happily as she answered, “Hello, Brother Mobai.”

Mobai was Zuo Hancheng’s personal assistant, and Anhao felt that there were goosebumps all over her body because she was receiving a call from him.

Zuo Hancheng, who was sitting outside in the living room, did not react at all. Therefore, Anhao quickly walked out of the study room as she held her cell phone to her ear. Zuo Hancheng was reading the newspaper in the living room and he did not seem to be bothered about the fact that she was on the phone.

Anhao stood by the door as she raised her voice and said, “Brother Mobai, why are you looking for me? Is it anything important? Should we meet up to discuss this matter in person?”

Mobai was surprised at her response because the first time he ever saw this girl next to President Zuo, she was so quiet and calm, and she barely opened her mouth at all.

“Miss Gu, President Zuo asked to find a tutor for you and I have already found the perfect tutor to help you in your studies. I will send his contact information over to you in a short while. The tutor will go over to help you with your studies tomorrow so please make sure to clear your schedule for him.” Anhao felt as though the joy and excitement that she was feeling before was disappearing as her heart sank to the ground.

She had almost forgotten that Zuo Hancheng had arranged for Mobai to find her a tutor. That was the reason why Mobai was calling her.

That was why he could be Zuo Hancheng’s personal assistant. He was a snake, just like him!

As soon as she hung up the phone, Anhao raised her head and stared at Zuo Hancheng who was calmly sitting on the sofa, reading his newspaper.

After thinking for a brief moment, Anhao suddenly asked, “Um… can I go out? Just for a short while. I will be back in one hour. Just give me one hour.”

“Your reason?”

Anhao rolled her eyes as soon as she heard his response. “Well, do you remember that occasion where I took five wine bottles from the bar? I never had the opportunity to pay the owner of the bar for those bottles. I just thought that I could step out for a short while and swipe the card that you gave me at the bar so that I can pay the owner for what I owe him. After all, the owner of the bar has always treated me very well. I can’t possibly owe him money without intending to pay him back…”
