Chapter 16.1 - Drama Queen and Provocateur (1/2)

If anyone asked Lin Jiu what sort of person the Sword Monarch Wei Liang was, then the only thing she could think of was drama queen and provocateur.

This was not how he was written in the book!

Even when he and Liu Qing Yin both formed a couple and ascended together, he was still his aloof self and he would only inadvertently reveal a touch of tenderness.

How did this icy cold man completely deteriorate in front of her?

Lin Jiu stared blankly at the man who talked nonsense, before Wei Liang dragged her back into his arms once more.

Ji Yuan has come!

Holding Lin Jiu, Wei Liang took a step forward.

His flying sword sliced through the sky one step ahead of the others in a wide ray of bright light, aimed straight at the great demonic cultivator in the sky.

Liu Qing Yin was still recuperating, and Mu Rong Chen was protecting her while blocking the sneak attacks from behind for Wei Liang. He knew that Wei Liang was injured and didn’t have the advantage against a full-powered Ji Yuan. Demonic cultivators did not rely on weapons, but rather the mind. It was most difficult to resist attacks from demonic cultivators when one’s nascent spirit was damaged.

Ji Yuan was still tens of thousands of feet away, but for top powerhouses like them, this was equivalent to being face-to-face.

A scarlet demonic wave struck from afar as if a red tide suddenly appeared between heaven and earth.

When it reached three thousand feet away, the scarlet demonic wave shot up and condensed into a terrifying red skull in the air. It opened its big mouth and swallowed Wei Liang’s flying sword in one gulp.

The red skull attacked without slowing down, and in the blink of an eye, it had gotten close.

Neither Mu Rong Chun nor Liu Qing Yin dared to slow down. They immediately sacrificed their best moves. A full moon accompanied by begonias blossoming in the sky resisted the attacks of the demonic cultivator.

When the jaw of the red skull was almost hit by the two sword shadows, it separated like countless worms scattering.

Wei Liang, on the other hand, brought Lin Jiu with him to face the direction of Ji Yuan’s attack. With a flick of his sleeve, he froze the attacking red skull and it shattered into fine ice particles before falling down from the air.

“The left?” He looked down indifferently at Lin Jiu.

Lin Jiu was currently mesmerized by the scene before her.

After the scarlet skull was frozen by Wei Liang in mid-air, it didn’t look scary in the slightest. A radiant red color ran through the ice beneath the sunlight. Walking underneath it would be like walking inside of a dreamy ice castle with red light refracting everywhere.

“It looks so pretty!” Lin Jiu cried.

Wei Liang’s mouth twitched. “This…looks pretty?”

Lin Jiu nodded repeatedly.

“…”

His wife really did have some unique aesthetics.

After a few steps, they arrived opposite of the demonic cultivator Ji Yuan.
