Chapter 353 - 353- Soliders know fraud (2/2)
”Lyn's?”
”That's right. Although she had no interest in her princess lessons, she was already showing strange signs of musical talent then. Whenever she was playing the Qin, she looked simply beautiful and dazzling. She shamed her elder sister quite a bit on that department.”
Now that he thought about it, Lyn always went on about how she strangely had musical talent.
As the King began to tell the tale of how she first started playing, a sudden thought - no something he had always been thinking about returned to him. He wishes he could have seen her growing up, how she was like when she was a princess at a young age. How beautiful was she, and if even back then, she showed such interesting expressions. It's something he has always been thinking about, especially when one by one, all the original knights of order showed up.
If he remained with her at that time, if he didn't escape, could he have seen more? Would he have learned more about her?
His thoughts broke when he found the King scanning him up and down. What he's doing is extremely rude, but Kazuya didn't want to start a fight since he invited him over.
”Is something the matter?”
”No, no, I just thought that your my daughter's type aren't you?”
At that, he could not hide the issuing red color in his cheeks. ”What are you saying….” Kazuya stammered, completely embarrassed.
”Because I asked her before, 'What kind of person would you like to marry?' And she answered with, ”Of course I would like a brave, charismatic and modern-day hero.'”
”. .that description fits any other knight.” he murmurs.
”True. But calling those other men heroes doesn't seem to click. Especially, Allen, he isn't the hero type.”
Kazuya sweat fell at that comment.
”Kazuya, I believe you are such an existence to my daughter. Although I haven't seen your interactions with her, from what I've heard from others and how you've been acting since her disappearance, I can tell that you two had something special.”
”But I could not protect her. I'm sure you've heard from the others already. But I failed.” Kazuya said as he clenched his fist, ”I do not deserve to be her knight.”
Even now, Kazuya couldn't forget the image of what happened that day. How could he have allowed himself to get poisoned? Poisoned or not, he should have stopped her. How could he have allowed her to fight, and get herself badly injured doing so?
”And that's where you're wrong.”
Kazuya blinked in confusion at the King's words.
”All of us failed to protect her,” Daichi stood up and extended his hand out, ”Only she can decide whether your worthy or not. And if we're going to ask her opinion when she gets back, the answer is obvious, isn't it?”
Kazuya doesn't say anything and yet clasped hold of his hand. ”Are you considering me as a candidate now?”
The King laughed. ”I've always considered you as one.”
