Chapter 353 - 353- Soliders know fraud (1/2)
After his conversation with Rhys, Kazuya tried to get some sleep. The only reason he came here was to search for Lyn, anyway..
As Kazuya walked around, he found himself purged into deep thoughts. Even though he knew Lyn was safe and sound now. He still regretted what had happened.
He truly is sorry; he could not keep his word. He said, 'until the day comes, I will protect you.' Kazuya heard the full story from the others, and although he was surprised. He figured as much. From the start, the knights of order since coming to the castle seemed to be completely unedge. So one of the knights who were tortured ended up turning against Lyn and is most likely perpetrator of the attacks. What a complicated situation, but indeed it isn't something they could easily broadcast out loud. After all, it would place suspicion on all knights of order from any side.
Even though Kazuya had his suspicions, he couldn't act on it. How could he?
She had been taken. Even though he was in the area close by, and he had done nothing to keep her safe. Being praised for his agility and martial arts… and for what exactly? What use did those skills have if he wasn't even able to put up with one man?
A deep sigh escaped his lips instead of wallowing in his failure again. He should figure out how to contact Lyn. A couple of hours had gone by already, and it was nightfall.
”If there are soldiers there will be fame.
If there is fame there will be fraud.
Soldiers know fraud. Soldiers know fraud.
Where there is trouble, there are heroes.
There are beautiful women. . .
. . surviving the turmoil and disaster.
If there are soldiers there will be fame.
If there is fame, there will be fraud.
Soldiers know fraud. Soldiers know fraud.”
Kazuya followed the direction of the voice and spotted auburn mid-length hair by the shore playing the Qin. His footsteps were too loud since the King turned in his direction.
”Forgive me. I did not intend to eavesdrop. I shall take my leave,” Kazuya didn't want to end up having yet another awkward conversation with the King. The one who brought him back to the Mist castle was King Daichi. He felt very embarrassed after what happened last time.
Daichi shook his head and pointed to the bottle, ”Kazuya, care to join me?”
Kazuya awkwardly nodded and sat opposite the auburn colored haired man. From what he heard from the others, Lyn was quite close to him. But, even her father, who cares for her, couldn't save her from being isolated. The King opened up a new bottle. It seemed like he had been out drinking for quite some time now.
”Do you drink? You handle yourself quite well.” Daichi commented. Though he just started to drink, Kazuya drank three cups right away.
”My former master believes it's only right for knights to drink to enjoy themselves.”
Daichi smiles, ”Indeed, your current one would say the same too. You know that soldiers fraud and even this Qin? It belongs to Lyn.”
