Chapter 202 - The Snow Kingdom Royal Family (2/2)

A kid, huh? But the surrounding aura around him and those guards following him. He's no ordinary person, otherwise, why would everybody bow down to him like this. Is this the reason why the Snow Kingdom people always look so afraid? Why they hold such fear in their hearts?

A chuckle escaped his lips, ”Now, now you do not have to bow to me or stand on ceremony Princess Lyn. You're an honored guest from another Kingdom.”

Kazuya grabbed hold of her arm and pulled her up, he wrapped his arms around her waist and mumbled. ”Lyn, don't move an inch okay?”

Lyn didn't understand what was going on but in a flash second one member of the band stood up and the next her blade was pointing towards the King's neck. It was the girl whose face is covered with a mask.

”My, you have not changed, instead of wasting your time here. Why don't you return home quietly, dear eldest sister Princess Eva?”

”That's Princess Eva?”

”So the rumors that she ran away were true.”

”I will not return,” Eva mumbled, ”And you have no right to walk in these streets.”

”No, right? But dear sister, I am the King for a reason.”

Lyn sensed the heavy atmosphere, and she didn't know why, but she rushed in front of Princess Eva. ”Wait a moment,” Lyn interrupted, ”While I have no right to intervene in your family affairs. Princess Eva's group showed me kindness, and I wish to return the favor. Could you please back down and return another day?”

”Very well, since your asking for it Princess Lyn we shall take our leave. But ah yes,” King Hein smiled, ”Please make sure to return quickly. You're not supposed to be roaming around either.”

Her sweat fell when she heard those words. A silent threat? Lyn stood in front of Princess Eva until the King and his troops left. The girl sighed and slumped to the ground.

The older lady who was talking to her earlier, ”Princess Lyn, right? Thank you for helping little Eva out.”

”Oh no, your welc--,” Lyn paused when she heard the informal tone used to address the Princess. ”The royal knights?”

The older lady laughed, ”Right. Well, this isn't a good place to talk about it. If you don't mind, we would like to invite you to tea.”

...

The hideout was surprisingly modest, not too formal nor too informal. Lyn felt a warm atmosphere the second they arrived. One thing that stood out to her was the size of the place, and the people training along the way. Is the hideout a military facility? Lyn got the same vibes she did from that place, and yet it's different. She looked over at the masked girl; she's still wearing the mask. But they are clearly in the girl's territory already. Lyn, however, was not the type to pry no matter how curious she was.

Some things are best kept a secret no matter what happens after all. People have scars that can't be healed.

The entire time Kazuya seemed quiet, which bothered her, so when she got the chance, Lyn leaned over and kissed his cheek. It snapped Kazuya from whatever daze he was in.

”My Lyn, your adorable.”

”I want your attention.”

Kazuya smiled and reached over to ruffle her hair, ”My bad, I was thinking about something.”

”Ah-huh,” Lyn nodded. What was he thinking of, though? Her thoughts broke off when he picked her up, ”Kazuya?”

”Your legs must be tired. Let me carry you.”

'But it's embarrassing,' Lyn thought. The older lady and Princess Eva seemed to be occupied though. The other members had separated from them at the entrance.

”Kazuya, what's wrong?” Lyn asked.

”I promised you to have a good time today, but I let my guard down at the last minute.”

Ah, Lyn shook her head, ”You don't have to blame yourself.” That's right; he did nothing wrong, ”I enjoyed myself.”

She really did, she had so much fun.
