Chapter 161 - The One (2/2)
The memory faded then, and he turned to his mother, who wore a tender expression on her face.
”She's the one for you, isn't she?”
”Yeah,” Kazuya hadn't realized how important Lyn had become to him until he saw her badly injured from that fight. ”I want to marry her.”
”Have you told her about your lineage?”
Kazuya shook his head, ”I don't think it's important.”
Mother sighed, ”Honestly, men are so indecisive. When it comes to the girl you love son, I don't think you have to hold yourself back as much as you do.”
”But I'm still at a trial stage.”
”That girl cares about you more than you think,” she said while she patted his head, ”I wanted to talk more. But I will save it for next time; please return to her side now.”
Before Kazuya could say anything more, a bright light enveloped the two of them. Kazuya the dull sensation of pain fill his body as he fought to open his eyes. Slowly, the world came into his view, followed by black hair and violet colored eyes.
Taking a moment to gather his thoughts, Kazuya realized where he was, and he turned back to his Lyn who sat on a chair fast asleep.
Kazuya glanced down and brushed his hand on her face as well as her black colored locks. She must have exhausted herself. His gaze darkened when he saw the marks in her hands.
Did she get into a fight? No, people most likely attacked her again. She's sleeping peacefully, though. Kazuya sat up despite the pain in his body and gently pulled the girl onto the bed. He could have just left her, but if she sleeps like that she will hurt her neck.
It didn't take long before she woke up, the moment she saw him. Lyn flung her arms around his neck, ”Kazuya. Kazuya!”
”Hey, my cute and adorable Lyn.”
”Wahh quit it with the flirting dummy.”
Kazuya smiled, ”Are you all right? Are you hurt anywhere else, your hands..”
Lyn placed her hand on top of his. ”Don't worry about me right now. Not when your seriously injured yourself. Your heart stopped for a moment, you know? I thought you were gonna leave me forever.”
At the girl's speech, he pulled her arm until she was closer to him.
”You called me back,” Kazuya murmured.
Lyn looked at him, confused, ”Me?”
Kazuya nodded, ”Yeah, I heard your voice. Besides, I promised you already. I will never leave you behind.”
”Really?”
”Mmm,” he paused when something came to mind, ”You've always been clumsy, huh?”
”Wait, did you dream of something that happened before?”
Kazuya only responded with a laugh. But as expected, laughing so much caused him more pain.
”Ah! Kazuya! Don't laugh. You're still very weak.”
”I'm okay.. I'm okay,” Kazuya reassured her. His entire body felt terrible, and he wanted nothing more than to rest. But he wants to reassure Lyn now.
”If anything happened to you, I would...”
Kazuya shook his head, ”Nothing will happen,” but he wore a grim expression. Even if Lyn didn't finish that sentence, Kazuya understood what she was about to say. Should he say he's flattered that she would go so far for him? Or worry?
He guesses it's not bad to do something romantic, especially considering how she looks cuter when she is crying. Kazuya brought her hand to his lips and gently placed kisses there.
”Uhhhh?” Lyn said puzzled, her cheeks dyed a lovely shade of red.
”My apology, for upsetting my cute Lyn.”
”Is that all? It seems pretty cheap.”
Kazuya laughed, ”Then, what do you want me to do, Princess?”
