With that over let's try talking with her. Hmmm? Kess and Set are sending messages over. I can understand what they want to send over better due to partial telepathy being upgraded to full after I ranked up. They still can't form words yet but, I get the gist. They think the new broodmother is dangerous.
Well, yeah. Anyways.
”Xelu ughhh, hi?”Gin
Honestly I dont know what to say to an eldritch monster.... I could try asking about what she knows about the one plane where she was created/modified.
”Do you know anything about where you come from?”Gin
Unlike what I expected she didn't speak. Instead she sent a message over through telepathy.
'From you' Xelu
'That's not what what I mean where you come from before I summoned you. The other plane.'Gin
'Nothing there, before there.... Pain.... Pain.... Pain....' Xelu
After that she just repeats pain over and over again. I think something horrifying must have happened to that harpy after I assimilated her.... Honestly, I don't know if this individual is the same creature. One thing is certain though. She is broken.
And here I am, feeling nothing about this. I hated people who tortured animals in my past but, now that I'm here, now that I broke another creature, nothing. I still find enjoyment from Kess and Set's antics and I can feel a variety of emotions.... I don't think this is because of steel mind.... I think it's this.

This has been something that I've ignored to a degree. I'm not fully human. What does that mean? I haven't had any physical changes other than racial benefits. So it must be my mind that has changed. I think it's only a portion of my mind. The portion that makes me feel repulsion from killing others and the portion that makes me feel terrible for doing.... Evil.
There is no doubt that what I did could be considered evil. Does it really matter if I was aware of the consequences? I chose an unknown option that directly resulted in breaking this creature. Yet.... I can see myself doing the same in the future.
My aversion of doing evil is gone. That does not mean I'll purposely choose to do similar things. It means I may overlook it.

I have Kess go around with the spiderlings to collect things from the corpses and bring them back to store in the nest. Meanwhile, I try talking to Xelu. She knows very little and her memories of the past are very cloudy. Kess and Set have distinct personalities but, Xelu is sort of robotic in her interactions with me. Even that smile that is always plastered on her face is really fake looking..... I guess I'll check her abilities next.
”Xelu can you show what abilities you have?”Gin
A orb of blood floats in front of her and she shoots it at the ground a distance away. It explodes in a weird way as blood makes it's way out from the impact forming veins mid-air.
After that she uses an ability which makes 2 meter tall tentacles grow out of the ground. They can shoot thorns out of their suction cups. This ability can apparently last as long as you want so it can make good sentries.
We went back to the nest to try summoning new eldritch spiderlings. Her summoning ability is quite a bit different from Kess's. She has to use all of her mana to summon a black sludge pool which will spawn a new spiderling every 10 hours. Once we have enough of these we can have a massive amount of forces summoned every ten hours.
It sort of outshines Kess's summoning method but I have a feeling that will change after she evolves. Xelu should already have the benefits of the first evolution as it says she can evolve next at level 15.
Well I guess Set's evolution is next.
