161 Journey to The Capital pt 2 (1/2)

It had been two weeks since the Feratu had been visited by the Revived Emperor, during this time he had only become more wary of the individuals around him.

'Seduction again. . . I am not some lesser creature who would fall to such a blatant trap' thought Draig as he woke up in his tent to once again find Junko clinging to his body.

The Vampire had experienced this situation numerous times already during this trip and it was one of the things that had made him more wary of the group.

The kindness and fondness that the group showed for him through their acts of goodwill had done nothing but to put Draig into a paranoid frenzy but he never showed it despite the fact it was becoming overwhelming. As he left his tent and went and sat under a tree he was seen by the Emperor who took it as a good time to chat with the youth he had found interest in so long ago.

Draig mentally sighed as he sensed the approaching Emperor with his eyes closed, he was still trying to reign in his mana after so long. He felt as if he had been placed into a foreign environment because of the fact that things had usually been much easier for him in the past but then again he the Bloodscript that allowed him to learn skills instantly and had always been able to get by with having his powers and abilities handed to him through some twist of fate.

'Why does this old man insist on disturbing me at such a crucial time. . .' thought Draig as he opened his eyes to acknowledge the Emperor's existence.

”It is a beautiful morning isn't it. .” smiled the Emperor as he looked towards the sky in a sage like manner.

”I suppose it is. . . .” answered Draig closing his eyes as he attempted to reign in his Mana control.

The Emperor seemed not to notice what Draig was doing and had merely thought Draig was steadying his mind in order to reach a higher level with his Avatar but had quickly scrapped the idea due to the lack of Deva Energy in motion within the Feratu.

”Tell me why did you leave the capital. . .” asked the Emperor suddenly in a somber tone.

”Because of your children” answered Draig causing the Emperor to fall silent for a few moments.

”I see. . . . Draig, it has been a long time since I have last seen you and I must say that you have changed a great deal from the child I brought home all that time ago” stated the Emperor as he left the area without waiting for Draig to respond.

Draig watched the man with narrowed eyes before resuming his meditation.

It was a few hours later that the rest of the Heirs had woken and left their tents allowing the entourage to continue their journey, they had skipped breakfast on this day simply because they were running low on rations which had come as a surprise to the Emperor.
