110 Not my Avatar pt4: Sleeping on the Job (2/2)

”Why am I chained to this wall, where is the Emperor” demanded Draig as this seemed like some kind of sinister plot in the making.

”Shut it you coward, you know very well that Father is dead” roared Hideki tears rolling down his face.

'Dead' thought Draig in shock, he couldn't fathom someone killing the Emperor simply because the man was too generous and could breed kindness with his actions then there was the fact that the Emperor was a powerful force even in his advanced age.

”Why do you think I would kill the Emperor” asked Draig suddenly causing the group to falter causing Draig to nod, it seemed they knew he didn't kill the Emperor.

”I see, this is a power struggle. You think I am unaware but the Emperor stated that whoever married me would be the next to sit on the throne” continued Draig revealing that he had hit the nail on the head again.

Draig sneered upon seeing the looks on their faces, while they possessed genuine sorrow for the loss of their father it did nothing to hide the fact they were already fighting for the throne before his body had even cooled.

”You think we want to do this, you had no right to come here and usurp us from our birthright. However for some reason Father just knew you were meant to sit on the throne, some random urchin off the street with some sob story” growled Akio as they had been found out.

Draig hearing confirmation that what he said was true he allowed his hair to shadow his eyes and made one comment in such a way that the group felt their very souls quiver in terror.

”You have made an Enemy” stated Draig  raising his gaze to look at the gathered group his crimson eyes glowing nefariously in the darkness.

The Feratu said nothing more merely biding his time regardless of the things said to him, the Heirs who truly felt their spirit rattled would attempt to reconcile with Draig in the dungeon but they would only receive a cold stare and a cruel smile for their troubles.

Another year had come to pass this way and Draig had not been idle as he placed his hand against the wall he was chained to and smiled as a small explosion mangled the metal and thus his hand as well allowing it freedom.

Waiting a bit for his hand to heal Draig repeated the process and freed his other hand before allowing himself to stretch his body releasing several loud pops and groan.

”Time to collect my things” muttered Draig as his bare feet began slapping against the stone floor eerily.
