Chapter 76:Puzzled and surprised (1/2)
Before the enemy could collide at him, Yman let himself fall below, because of this, he evaded and avoided the head-on collision at the right time.
After the expected collision did not happen, the enemy had lost in thought for his surprise, which led to losing his focus.
On the contrary, Yman took advantage of it and threw his daggers overhead to where the transport bird was hovering. It then hit squarely at the bird's neck and body, which caused it to lose its balance, and fell towards the ground together with the rider.
He heaved a sigh, then turned his eyes around him, and saw the retreating figures of the other enemies. They were riding in tandem and rapidly flew towards the east side of the city.
Yman had a surprised face when he saw the person who fell before was able to escape his death.
”Looks like he has the devil's luck,” he mumbled then decided to let them be.
He darted his gaze again and saw a Hell Chaser bird orbiting in one of the buildings around. He wondered why this bird did not choose to escape, but in his mind, he thought, it was probably because of the bird's nature.
To be honest, most transport birds have a timid, docile, and friendly nature.
Without wasting time, he kicked in the air and dashed towards the riderless transport bird.
His breaths were a little bit off, and he felt his stamina was almost at the limit. Modifying a skill was stressful. He needed an exceptional talent in concentration and mana control to achieve the results he wanted.
In a few seconds, he leaped and landed on top of it. The jolt of impact startled the bird, and a low growl escaped from it, but Yman did not mind it.
”And now, how to drive this?” He muttered to himself and scanned the bird.
He saw a rope tied from its beak to the back. Being a first-timer, he had no idea how to handle this thing.
”Hm, anyhow, it's easier to learn by experiencing it to yourself,” He said as he picked the rope and positioned himself -- sitting on its back, imitating someone who rode on a horse.
The bird seemed to be puzzled to where this pilot wanted to go as he was hoisting the rope randomly.
The video already cut-off after everyone left the area.
Meanwhile, at the foot of the hill, four transport birds were racing.
A chilling feeling of bad premonition tickled from his back. Jun glanced behind just to see his face shortly turned cold. ”Dodge!” He shouted.
Without looking behind, Sierra skillfully controlled the bird to drift on her left. A hissing reached her ears; a spear-like azur light passed before her face.
Bang!
The unlucky trees below turned into smithereens.
Without decreasing the speeds, Sierra and Jun swerved left and right to avoid the follow-up attacks.
Both frowned from the relentless attacks; their visions started to become unsteady.
”This is bad, I have no idea why they had to be persistent in chasing after us,” Jun weakly grumbled, while trying to evade all the spear-like magical magical attacks that fired at them.
Suddenly, his deity voiced out.
He nodded and said his thanks; his cat-looking deity went inside his clothes and curved into a ball.
Yet a wind blade magical attack almost hit him.
”Idiot! Are you trying to kill them?” The leader of the enemy shouted.
”Ah? Aren't you trying to shoot them down, boss?” Said his comrade in puzzlement, who uses wind element magic.
”What you! Of course not, I'm just scaring and tiring them out by forcing them to evade!” The leader explained.
”Ah! So that's the reason why up until now your attacks are all missing, boss?”
”Of course! Why? Did you think I had a bad aim, huh? If I wanted them dead, they had already turned into a piece of s**t by now!”
”No, I would never think bad of you, boss. You are certainly the man who stood like the mountain, boss. Your wittiness knows no bounds! HEHE, I will do as you do, boss! Please, forgive this incompetent fool,” His comrade excitedly proclaimed.
”Don't mind it. You are still growing and learning. What's more important is that you understand now why my attacks didn't hit them,” the leader said in a dignified manner — crossed his arms and raised a brow.
However, inside his mind, 'Damn it! Why couldn't I hit those fools? Not good. This idiot with me has better accuracy than me.
I will lose my face if they find out that I have pitiable accuracy!!!
If only I had been practicing my shooting skill until now, this predicament of mine would never happen. If this idiot beside me will be the first to hit those fools, my pride as the leader can't take it!'
He shouted in panic inside his head.
”Ahem! In any case, we must capture them before they reach the peak of this hill.” He added, then sped up his flight.
”Okay, boss!”
All of them were climbing the hill while flying parallel to it, a little above the trees.
Every second, the distance between them had abridged tremendously.
”Hehe, boss, let's hit their birds!”
”Okay, but let me handle it!” Replied the leader. His arms immediately envelope by azur brilliance.
Jun and Sierra shuddered at their fate.
The leader of the enemy pointed his palm towards Jun's bird. At this distance of about 3 meters away from his target, he believed that he could hit it.
Jun tried to confuse the enemy by flying in a zigzag. But he failed to lose the enemy's track.
The leaders were gathering more brilliance until to the point that he needed to fire.
A figure leaped from the tree branch and brandished a weapon to him.
The enemy was startled but he managed to block the attack.
Ting! A piercing noise invaded their ears when their weapons clashed.
