”Officer Li, why don't we have a talk?” Darren did not give up on his attempts to bait Carlos into a conversation.

Carlos also sneered coldly. ”I don't think there is anything to discuss between us!” he said.

”Really? Officer Li, are you sure there is nothi

fighting with Carlos, turning to Cherish. He wanted to stop her from calling for help.

Carlos saw Darren charge at Cherish, and he rushed up to protect her without a second thought. He shielded her behind his back and shouted, ”I'll keep him busy! You run!”

Not daring to stay any longer, Cherish took the chance to run to the bathroom and locked the door.

With her trembling hand holding the phone, she rushed through the contact list but still couldn't find Jacob's number.

At this moment, her mind had almost gone blank. She was in such a panic that she had forgotten that she didn't have Jacob's number, since they were not even acquainted.

”Why can't I find his number? Where is it!” she muttered as she skimmed through her contact list.

As she panicked and became extremely worried, a name suddenly popped up before her eyes.

Chuck Li!

'That's right! I can contact Chuck! Chuck can reach out to Jacob for sure!' Cherish thought excitedly, her heart pounding in her throat.

She dialed Chuck's number with fingers made numb by her trembling.

Fortunately, the call was answered as soon as it rang.

”Uncle Chuck, please call Jacob right now and ask him to come to Nora's apartment. Carlos is in danger!” Cherish quickly said as soon as she heard the voice on the other end of the line.

Utterly confused, Chuck wanted to ask more, but he was cut off by Cherish. ”Hurry up!” she begged.

Then, she ended the call.

After hanging up the phone, Cherish didn't dare to go out of the bathroom again. She was afraid that she would be a distraction to Carlos, and he would get hurt trying to defend her.
