'Come on, Cherish. I believe you can get through this! Carlos just can't get out from under the shadow of Nora's death.

You can't give up now. Come on!' Cherish mentally tried to cheer herself up.

With those thoughts in her mind, she gradually calmed down.

She looked at Carlos, who was blankly staring at the photo, and she felt sorry for him. She really ached at seeing him so desperate like this.

He should have been a young man with high spirits and vigor, but now he seemed to be wrapped in loneliness, alone in the dark.

She wanted to take him in her arms to give him warmth and drive away the despair from him.

But she couldn't take advantage of him when he was in a state of distraction!

When he calmed down, she stepped forward and laid her hands on his back, embracing him after a fashion. She patted his shoulder lightly to comfort him.

A sound at the door brought them back to reality. They looked up at the noise and saw an uninvited guest standing in the doorway.

For the last few minutes, they had been turning the whole house upside down to look for the key. The confined space was filled with dust after having been vacant for several weeks already, and it had made them cough. Therefore, Cherish had flung open the windows and doors. However, it had created a convenient way for intruders to enter.

”Hey, are you two done with flaunting your love?” The man at the door had decided to interrupt them, so he knocked on the door.

He was afraid that he wouldn't get the key today if he didn't break up the tender moment.

”Darren, you are illegally intruding into a private residence. You will be arrested for breaking and entering!” With this warning, Carlos quickly pulled Cherish closer and hid her behind him for safety.

The intruder was none other than Darren.

”Huh! Officer Li, aren't you also breaking the law?” Darren sneered.

This house was registered in Nora's name, though she was dead. If Carlos dared to accuse him of illegal trespassing, then Carlos was guilty of the same thing.

Of course, Carlos knew what he meant. He didn't reply to him, but stared at him in silence, getting ready for his next move.
