Chapter 29: The top of the world (1/2)

Ed, Raikou, and Suika continued their journey to hunt the last wyvern. When he checked the map, Ed noticed that the wyvern was about 10km away from them. Ed and Raikou ran at full speed towards their target.

Ed didn't want to ride on Raikou so as not to exhaust him; it was also his chance to train his Spectral Shadow Steps.

Around 30 minutes later, they got to their destination and found the wyvern sleeping in a cave. Ed wanted to scan the wyvern but it seemed to notice their presence and woke up.

Ed got on guard and wanted to attack but the wyvern disappeared from in front of him. 'What the!' Ed was surprised and kept looking around in case of an attack. His Seikken didn't detect any movement near him so he was sure the wyvern wasn't fast. 'If it could disappear at will then that only means' Ed came to a sudden realization and left the cave.

When they got outside, they found the wyvern sitting as if waiting for them. This time Ed made sure to scan it before it disappeared again.

Name Space wyvern.

Cultivation: Earth Establishment (Level 1).

Ed's guess was correct, it was using space magic. 'This'll be tricky It's as strong as Raikou' Ed knew his fight this time wasn't going to end as easily as the others.

”Raikou, it can probably teleport so if it disappears be careful of attacks coming from your blind spots. Suika, sorry but the enemy is too dangerous this time, I'm recalling you” ”Suu” Suika gave him a sad response but she agreed.

Ed and Raikou started their assault on the wyvern. At first it fought them at close range without using any magic; however, it soon noticed that it was being overpowered. The human was tricky and could dodge everything while the wolf was too fast for it to touch.

Suddenly it jumped up in the air and slashed at nothing, Ed thought it was weird but before he could react he felt pain on his chest and was blown away backward.

”Raikou! Be careful it can use its space magic on anything it wants” Ed wasn't injured badly since this time; he was wearing the leather equipment. Ed activated his Sharingan and kept looking at the wyvern; trying to put it under Genjutsu but he failed since it was much stronger than him. He gave up on his plan but kept his Sharingan active.

Ed and Raikou could react better to the attacks now that they were on guard. Whenever Ed noticed QI movement in the wyvern he would shout to Raikou to make him know it was attacking. However, they still got injured multiple times after failing to dodge.

Ed noticed something while fighting the wyvern and wanted to confirm it. He looked at Raikou and he seemed to understand him. Ed ran towards the wyvern and jumped while using Wind blades, the wyvern dodged it with a short teleport but only to find Raikou, who had predicted its escape, waiting for it with lightning magic.

The wyvern got hit since it couldn't escape but it didn't seem like it took much damage. ”It seems like it can't use its magic successively after all” Although they found one of its weaknesses, they still didn't have the advantages over it. It was difficult after all to predict its escape patterns every time. While they were getting too many injuries, Ed got a plan and bet everything on it.

”Raikou I only need to get one hit in to finish this!” Ed instructed his companion, and the latter executed perfectly. Raikou rushed at the wyvern and did his best to corner it. Ed withdrew his Murata-tou and held his left wrist with his right hand while he closed his eyes and expanded his Seikken to its fullest.

'I can't waste this chance!' As soon as Ed noticed that the wyvern teleported to his area of Seikken used his Zero sign and jumped up towards the wyvern slashing at it. The wyvern couldn't react until after it got slashed, however, it seemed like the slash failed since it wasn't life-threatening.

”Hiryu: Kaen” Ed spoke while falling down and looked at the wyvern. Suddenly the wound he caused to the wyvern ignited and it was now covered in flames. It couldn't handle the pain so it lost its cool and forgot to teleport to safety. Raikou came in finished it off by biting its neck and breaking it
