Chapter 28: The hunt (3) (1/2)

”System scan the earth wyvern”

Name: Earth wyvern.

Cultivation: King establishment (Level 5).

'He's stronger than the others' Ed noticed that this earth wyvern was stronger so he decided to take this more seriously.

”Raikou we'll go full power from the start. Suika stay back we don't know if your poison will work on him, but be ready in case we need you to poison him.” Ed devised a plan and told his companions.

The wyvern was brown in color which was fitting. It noticed Ed and the rest coming and turned around to look at them. It seemed to feel their killing intent so it growled and got ready to fight itself.

Ed and Raikou started sprinting and got to where to wyvern was at. Ed activated his Sharingan while Raikou clad itself in lightning.

The duo almost got to the wyvern when suddenly Ed noticed Qi moving around the earth where it is standing. He got a bad feeling so he called Raikou.

”Raikou Jump!” Raikou noticed something was wrong as well and jumped. Right after, spikes made from earth came from underneath them. Raikou kept dodging them in midair while retreating.

Ed made use of his speed and dodged before the spikes got close to him.

'A close quarter combat won't be very effective if we can't get passed these spikes' Ed was thinking of new ways to kill the wyvern.

'If we can wear its Qi out then we can easily kill it. But It should have more Qi than me' Ed was now in a bind. The best course action was to wear out the wyvern with Raikou.

Ed and Raikou put the plan to action very fast. Ed was using wind blades to cut up the spikes but when it was about to hit the wyvern it would spawn an earth wall that weakened the blades and eventually erased them. The fire wasn't very effective either as it would just dissipate on the mud.

'No choice but to risk it' Ed started running towards the wyvern. The latter noticed him and used spikes to kill him. This time it also used some earth arrows and sent them flying towards him.

However before the attacks hit him, Ed dodged them as If he knew they were coming. Ed was now using the Rysui Seikken along with the Sharingan. This allowed him to have great sight and read the opponent's thought process. Ed couldn't keep up this state for too long of a time so he had to make every second count.

He activated his Shadow steps and accelerated to his maximum speed. The wyvern felt danger and started exhausting its Qi conjuring walls, spikes, and arrows. However, none of these could stop Ed in his current state. Soon enough, Ed finally got to where the wyvern was and swung his swords in an attempt to kill him.

The wyvern then flew into the sky in an attempt to avoid Ed. To his surprise, Raikou was waiting for him and hit him with a paw enhanced with lightning magic. Due to Raikou being stronger than the wyvern this caused it immense damage and sent it flying down to the ground.

Ed knew Raikou was waiting and would perform just what he needed so he was in the ground while his sword with Qi. As the wyvern got close to him, he swung his swords and hit the wyvern killing him instantly.
