Chapter 10: Thinking of finding trouble? I welcome you!

Housekeeper Liu saw Lu Feng was staring at him, he slowly began to back off. Lu Feng coldly smiled “What? Thinking of running away?” Housekeeper Liu fervently shook his head, “No, no.” Lu Feng saw that he was not willing and clicked his tongue, “Even now, you still want to defend your partner-in-crime? Aren’t you afraid of dying from poison?”

Housekeeper Liu was obviously scared. In fact, he was terrified of Lu Feng. “I really don’t know anything, Young Master”, he pleaded while trembling in fear. Lu Feng saw that the interrogation was going nowhere so he sighed and said “It seems like I’ll have to tell the Family Head and Mistress Bai about the matter. Oh, and Miss Bai too. I’ll have to ask about how to deal with this issue.”

Housekeeper Liu heard this and was terrified. He knew once the news of him becoming cahoots with an outsider to harm Lu Feng reached the Family Head, he would be in deep trouble. “N-now that I’ve told you everything, could you please let me go, and not tell the Family Head about this?” He nervously said.

Lu Feng smirked and said “Well that depends on your behaviour.” Housekeeper Liu knew that he could do nothing else but trust Lu Feng’s words, so he reluctantly said “Fine, I’ll tell you who was the woman. Her name is Xia Qin.”

Lu Feng heard the name and frowned. “The daughter of the Xia Family, what a b.i.t.c.h! I can’t believe she actually made you poison me! Did she want me to embarra.s.s myself at the wedding?!” he said angrily.

“Yes, she did”, Housekeeper Liu said in a meek voice whilst keeping his head down. Lu Feng smiled wryly, “Good, now there are no problems. Let’s proceed to the shrine.” Housekeeper Liu was baffled, “You, really won’t tell them?” Lu Feng laughed, “I won’t pursue it. However, if that b.i.t.c.h from the Xia Family ever asks if if I’m poisoned, you best tell her that I am. If not, you’ll never get the antidote, and I’ll expose your crimes.”

Housekeeper Liu nodded furiously at the threats, “En, en, I’ll definitely be honest.” Then housekeeper Liu was puzzled, why would Lu Feng need to trick Xia Qin. In the end what is the point of it, only Lu Feng knew that it was because he wanted to give her a nice surprise.

The puzzled housekeeper Liu hurriedly brought Lu Feng to the Bai family’s shrine. The shrine wasn’t small. Outside, there was a large courtyard with numerous people gathered in front of it. Several large stone tablets were placed with numerous people paying respects and leaving offerings.

The Bai mistress saw that Lu Feng had changed and smiled, “Come quickly.” Lu Feng embarra.s.sedly approached, the Bai family head nodded slightly, “En, you stand over there and follow what we do to pay respects.”

Lu Feng made an en sound as the Bai family head began to offer respect. Except Lu Feng didn’t hear a single word of what he said. He was quietly watching but from here he could see the amount of people the Bai family had.

For example, the Bai family head, above him there was his brother who was not present at the time and had left. Then below him was his younger sister; these two men were too far apart and did not have much contact. After all, the Bai family head had set the marriage in two days. In addition to the Bai family head’s generation, there was Young Miss Bai’s generation. Since Lu Feng knew Young Miss Bai’s real name he secretly whispered in his mind, “Bai Yue, Meng Yue1and both of their names share the same character. I wonder if she shares some connection to the Meng Yue in my university. What are the chances of this happening.”

But Lu Feng did not care that much anymore. Since today he can marry the girl of his dreams, he was super happy. After the Bai family head finished reciting the names, he looked at his son “Bai Yao, come over.”

Bai Yao came over holding a lit incense stick, after paying respects he inserted the incense stick. Then the Bai family head looked towards Lu Feng, “En, you too.” Lu Feng also went over, after repeating this cycle with different people, the Bai family head looked at his wife, “Wife, you bring them to eat, after it’s done then it’s time to receive guests.”

“Ok.”

Soon after the Bai mistress brought Lu Feng and the others to eat. When Lu Feng was done he was dragged by the mistress and housekeeper towards the main courtyard which had many tables. On top of the tables were cups and a pot of tea, Lu Feng was naturally forced to receive guests.

He was carrying a white cat which the guards had not seen before, they were curious as they had never seen a cat. Lu Feng was carrying the cat around, until Bai Yao went to him slightly unhappy, “If you continue like this the guests would definitely be creeped out.”

Lu Feng smiled, “Young master, how is that possible. Just take a look at the guards adoring it, I also think the guests would like it.” Bai Yao looked around and saw everyone’s expression, helplessly sighed, “Fine then, sit down and we can have a chat.”

Lu Feng had a blank expression, he didn’t expect Bai Yao would want to chat. The guards around immediately tactfully stood at attention as if they were afraid to hear what was going to be spoken. Lu Feng could only awkwardly smile, “Young master.”

Bai Yao’s eyebrow frowned, “You’re going to marry my sister, why are you still calling me Young Master?” For a while Lu Feng didn’t reply, he then asked “I don’t know what is Young Master’s intention?”

“Call me Big Uncle.”

Lu Feng made an Oh sound and laughed, Bai Yao helplessly said, “I don’t care what you did before, how poor. When you marry my sister you must take good care of her, don’t let anyone bully her, understood?”

Lu Feng a.s.sertively replied, “Big uncle, don’t worry I’ll only let her bully others. Who even dares to bully her.” Bai Yao almost spat out while laughing, “When you have the ability then say, you’re not stronger than her yet.”

When Lu Feng heard this he smiled. “ Behind a strong woman there is a man’s love.” Bai Yao didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, “If she had heard that, your skin would definitely be peeled off.”
