Part 4 (2/2)

”We'll fight over men later; let me get to know the girls,” Lu turned her attention to the ladies. ”Welcome to my home, make yourselves comfortable. You want something to drink?”

”I do,” Breonni said, taking a seat on the matching couch across from KoKo.

”No, thank you,” Goldie and Adreena said in unison then took a seat on the side of Bre. Goldie raised her eyebrows at the fact that Lu was a woman.

”I know what you want, KoKo,” she walked off into the open kitchen, poured Bre some sprit, and gin and grabbed a small brown box and a bottle of water.

Goldie and Adreena looked over at each other and shrugged. Everything had just changed, KoKo was planning on attacking these n.i.g.g.as from all sides.

”Okay, let's get it cracking,” Lu pa.s.sed out the drinks then opened the box, pulled out a long, fat blunt and pa.s.sed it to KoKo. A smile hugged the corner of KoKo's mouth as she reached out and took it from her hand. Lu put fire to the end and sat back as KoKo took a deep inhale.

”Alright...when we leave this room, everything that is said stays in this room,” she paused, knocked off the ashes and continued. ”This s.h.i.+t right here that we are about to get into needs to be handled with caution and extreme suspicion. Anybody could be your enemy. I've seen m.u.t.h.af.u.c.kas turn on themselves in tight situations.”

KoKo pa.s.sed the blunt to Goldie.

”If your heart ain't in this get out now, because I don't do cross. I will not be merciful to a trader.” She locked gazes with each woman to make sure they got the point.

”KoKo, you know that you have my loyalty. And if they are an enemy of yours, then they are an enemy of mine,” Goldie also looked each woman in the eye.

Meeting the team for the first time, Lu took in each woman's character. Breonni...well, Lu felt that she could feel her pain and a lifetime of betrayal. Adrenna seemed like a problem child who had ran away to be in the circus and ran into a bad b.i.t.c.h named KoKo. Goldie's personality held a tone of emptiness and there was a darkness behind her eyes; it was the kind of blankness you get after really seeing death. She knew KoKo had some real woman on her team that had lost parts of themselves; parts that would allow them to kill without prejudice or remorse.

Each woman was also checking Lu out. She was a little white woman with a whole lot of s.p.u.n.k and judging from her att.i.tude, she was ready to lay a n.i.g.g.a in the dirt at a blink of an eye.

”Everybody down?” KoKo asked for the last time.

”You already know,” Goldie answered and everyone else nodded in agreement.

From this point on, the plan was in full motion and there were two options: succeed or die.

Chapter 9.

Take it From the Top Simone sat comfortably at her table sipping herbal tea and reading the stock report. She turned the pages and money over in her head, jotting down notes to share with her clients.

”Hey, beautiful,” Baseem said in her ear, causing her to jump and spill her tea as she tried to place it down on the saucer.

”Why would you do that?” she asked, dropping her paper and clutching at her chest.

”My bad, beautiful. I didn't mean to scare you,” he waved over the waitress who quickly moved to them and wiped up the spill and refilled her cup.

”Why are you here?” she tried to compose herself.

”I needed to see your pretty face,” Baseem said as he took a seat. ”Why you always spilling things when you see me?” he joked, giving her a s.e.xy smile.

Simone maintained a stiff face as she stared at the s.e.xy persistent man sitting in front of her. ”How did you find me?” she asked, crossing her hands in front of her.

”I have my ways,” he sat forward. ”I am a man that always gets what he wants.”

Simone picked up her small recorder and it record. ”Fire my a.s.sistant,” she said then laid it back on the table twisting her lips in disgust.

”Don't be mad at her. She was just trying to help a desperate brother out.”

”I bet she was, but I don't play mixing business with pleasure. I am very serious about my job.”

”I know and you need to be more serious about your play time too,” he looked down at the plumpness of her breast sitting up in her peach b.u.t.ton up blouse.

”Um, h.e.l.lo,” she waved his attention back to her face. ”Real woman want to be taken seriously and my breast is not my serious part,” she gave him a firm eye.

”I am looking forward to getting to meet all your parts,” he flirted.

”What do you want from me? I am way out of your league we have nothing in common.”

”Let me have a date and I can show you what we have in common,” he went straight to the point.

”Sorry, but I don't date your kind,” she took her cup by the handle and brought it to her lips.

”What is my kind? Young, confident, rich with a d.i.c.k game that keeps a woman's panties wet even when I'm far, far away,” Baseem spit that slick s.h.i.+t.

”Look I am not a quick bone and I don't date drug dealers.”

”d.a.m.n,” he sat back and grabbed his chest. ”You just gonna label a man? What happen to innocent until proven guilty?”

”Whatever. I am about to eat and don't want your bulls.h.i.+t to spill all over my meal.”

Simone responded, as the waitress came to the table with her spinach salad. ”Will there be anything else?” the woman asked.

”No, that is it for now,” Simone answered, looking over her plate.

”Anything for you, sir?”

”No. He is about to leave,” Simone answered for him.

”What night can I pick you up?”

”You just don't quit?”

”Nope.”
