Part 3 (1/2)

”So was I,” he said, turning in her direction and giving her the same intense stare Kayson gave when he wasn't playing.

KoKo locked eyes with him and tilted her head to the side. ”You better do something with those eyes,” she ordered.

After a few seconds, he blinked back his gaze and turned back to the baby. KoKo had been having a few problems with him and his small att.i.tude. What he didn't realize was that his mother was a crazy b.i.t.c.h and was being very patient with him. But KoKo saw that she was going to have to get him straight because what she was not going to have was a man child putting his foot in her a.s.s.

KoKo held her glare in his direction, then turned to Mariam and gave her instructions for both babies and Quran while she and Goldie headed upstairs to her bedroom.

”If I ask you again, there will be more than a problem,” KoKo said as her eyes pierced the side of his little face.

Quran looked up into KoKo's unwavering eyes, and then moved toward Mariam, keeping his lips pulled tightly together.

”I have it, Mrs. KoKo,” Mariam a.s.sured as she took Jarod from Goldie's arms.

Goldie smirked as she watched Quran walk off full of att.i.tude. ”He is his father's child,” Goldie said, rising to her feet.

”Yup and just like his father, I'ma have to show him who's the boss. Let's go blow these trees,” KoKo said as she walked off shaking her head.

Baseem sat comfortable in a thick, suede lounge chair sipping his drink and pulling on a blunt. Kayson was seated across from him stroking his chin as he processed the information that Baseem just gave him about the new crew in New York and Jersey and the new connect. s.h.i.+t was tight, and with their absence, the young boys were getting out of hand causing Chucky and Pete to lay a few n.i.g.g.as down; bringing unwanted heat on the trap spots.

”Sounds like to me, I need to take a trip,” he smoothly stated, staring at Baseem.

”You know me, Kay...I'm ready to put some n.i.g.g.as on they a.s.s,” he pulled hard on his blunt.

”I had the feeling that my presence was needed. I was trying to let these n.i.g.g.as earn their t.i.tles, but with me and KoKo off the scene, n.i.g.g.as comfortable,” he stated smoothly as he began to devise a plan.

Baseem nodded his head. ”Whatever you want to do, I'm down,” he took another deep inhale. ”I see your wife got some s.h.i.+t brewing,” he chuckled taking his drink to his mouth.

”Yeah, her a.s.s thinks she slick. I'ma let her wet her feet a little. You know KoKo is the toughest n.i.g.g.a in the crew,” Kayson cracked a semi smile.

”Yeah, we just gotta make sure she put her nose in the place that don't have her in our s.h.i.+t.”

”Don't worry; I got enough stuff lingering to keep her busy. And you know me; I can always find some s.h.i.+t to throw her off my scent,” Kayson stated with confidence.

Baseem just sat back and pulled the thick smoke into his lungs, he had a new energy flowing through his veins. He was ready to reclaim the streets and putting n.i.g.g.as on they a.s.s was at the top of his list.

Goldie and KoKo were sitting on the floor in the walk-in-closet smoking a blunt like two high school girls cutting cla.s.s.

”So, what's up, Boss?” Goldie asked, taking some deep pulls.

”I got to get back to the A and straighten s.h.i.+t out, and then we gotta go to New York and restructure. I heard that the crew is getting a little out of control. Last, I gotta find out who is behind all my demons. I will never be able to rest until I get all my questions answered,” KoKo said taking the blunt from Goldie's hand.

”I understand. I feel the same way. So, what you got planned?” Goldie asked, rubbing her hands together.

”I got a crew of bad a.s.s b.i.t.c.hes that are ready to make a n.i.g.g.a bend and fold,” KoKo said, squinting her eyes.

Chapter 5.

First Encounter ”I need you to make sure my money is doing what it is supposed to be doing,” Baseem stated, giving Steven a firm eye.

”I got you. I have to make sure we cover our a.s.ses,” Steven tried to rea.s.sure him.

”I pay you enough money to make sure my a.s.s and every f.u.c.king thing else is covered,” Baseem's voice rose slightly, catching the attention and glares of a few people in earshot.

”Let's go upstairs and talk numbers,” Steven looked around the huge lobby as his colleagues began to fill back in after lunch. Baseem's voice had already alerted the woman at the desk and the security at the checkpoint.

Baseem stared at Steven for a few more minutes and then agreed to go with him. They moved to the elevator, hit the up b.u.t.ton, and waited. Just as they were about to step inside, a woman flew out the doors running right into Baseem, sending her files flying into the air and scattering all over the floor.

”d.a.m.n,” she mumbled as she kneeled down to collect her paperwork.

”My bad, ma,” Baseem bent down to help her.

”No, it's my fault,” she said, not looking up as she s.n.a.t.c.hed at the paperwork. She was running late and small talk would only hold her up.

”You always starting trouble,” Steven accused as he stood back in his charcoal brown Armani suit, watching the two of them scramble to retrieve the doc.u.ments.

”Oh shut up,” Simone hurled at Steven. He was her biggest compet.i.tion at the firm and had a way of rubbing her more than the wrong way.

”Clumsy a.s.s,” Steven mumbled as he straightened his tie.

Once all the papers were back in her hands, she looked up and met eyes with the man that she had almost knocked down. When he shot her a pretty warm smile, her heart jumped.

”Do you make a habit of knocking people down?” Baseem asked smoothly as he rose to his feet, extending his hand.

Simone was lost for words as his comforting voice settled against her eardrum. She put her hand in his, allowing him to pull her up.

”No, I was running a little late,” she said, trying to settle her breathing and collect her thoughts.

Baseem looked at the small amount of cleavage that showed off her soft breast. Her light brown hair draped the sides of her face accenting her brown eyes and soft pouty lips. His eyes moved over her curves that were perfectly p.r.o.nounced in her dark grey pencil skirt.

”I guess it was my fault,” he proclaimed, bringing his gaze back to hers.

”Maybe we should just both watch where we are going,” she slightly flirted.

They stood in an eye lock, caught up in each other's smiles until Steven cut in. ”Excuse me, but we gotta go,” he announced as he held the elevator doors open and stepped inside. ”You can holla at Mrs. Stuck up later,” he said, holding his finger on the open door b.u.t.ton.

Simone dropped her smile and shot a hard stare at Steven. ”I hope you blow up,” she hurled in his direction, and then began to walk off. ”Thank you and enjoy your day,” she coldly said to Baseem putting pep to her step.

”Can I ask your name?” Baseem yelled out as she put more distance between them.
