12 Fortress City of Esnoz (1/2)

It has been 4 hours since the Investigation Team departure from Astor, they currently sitting on top of Lynn the Wyvern's back which flying moderately fast several hundreds meters above the ground.

The journey had been without an accident so far.

”Huhh so cold...even though the sun is really bright, brrrr.” Zohar complaining about the temperature as he covering his body with a blanket.

”Tch... just bear with it, we almost there anyway.” Aurel berating him with an annoyed face.

Zohar didn't respondingAurel, he keeps shivering inside the blanket, while snot flowing from his grand nose.

The other team member didn't pay attention to Zohar antics, instead, they just enjoying the journey soundly, even Sasha already fall to sleep unknowingly.

Melissa who sits behind, silently looking at her team members conditions, and she keeps a mental note about each of them.

But when she set her sights at Arno who sits beside her, she was confused because she saw Arno is looking down at something below on the ground.

She couldn't help but curious about what's attracted him.

”Arno, what are you looking at?.”

Arno keeps looking below as he heard Melissa question ”There's a river below, what's the name?...”

Then she also began gazing at a long and wide river below them.

”Ah...you didn't know?? the river was called Etna River.”

Arno shakes his head a little ”No,....but it's huge river though.” he answers with an indifferent tone.

'This!! he didn't even know one of the famous rivers in this continent...' Melissa was flabbergasted because Arno did not know the river's name, even the other people who unintentionally hear their conversation also began to feel weird.

But Melissa didn't think further, instead, she wants to tell Arno about the river as it gives her a reason to have a conversation with him, she didn't know why, but recently she always wanting to talk with him.

”Yeah, it's one of the most well-known rivers in this continent, the river starting from Mount Valois in Arga Forest and runs straight through Astoria territory, finally ends in the Empire northern coast to the Aral Sea.” Melissa explaining about the river to Arno who's listening attentively.

”Hmm, i see, but that bridges over there seem highly crowded huh...” Arno continues to ask and pointing at the huge stone bridges which packed by people.

”Well, the Valtume Bridge is always like that every day, most of the Etna rivers depth is too deep, there are only several places which shallow enough to build some bridges, while only 2 crossing located inside the Empire territory and Valtume Bridge is one of them, that's why is extremely crowded by people who are trying to cross.”

”So it's like that....” Arno nods slowly, but he didn't speak after that.

Melissa is waiting for Arno to replies her, but seeing that he just stay silent, she's kinda disappointed a bit, but she not letting it bothering her mind because she thinks there would be another chance later as this would be a long journey.

Meanwhile, Alfred who sits in the front near Gus the Rider began asking him ”Hey...how long until we get there?.”

Gus turns his head towards Alfred ”Not long sir, probably around 2 or 3 hours max...” and he smiles while assuring Alfred that it wouldn't take long for them to get to Esnoz.

Alfred asked because he didn't know the exact journey's time, this is the first time for him to rides on Wyverns. in his journey from the 5th Legion camps in Gaztic Valley to Astor before, he only uses horses and it took him almost 2 weeks worth of travel.

”Alright...” than Alfred no longer bothering Gus, and he decides to close his eyes, began to relax.

Screech!!

Lynn the Wyvern letting out a small roar from her mouth as she continues on transporting the team towards Esnoz.

Another 2 hours have passed.

Gus the Rider who's looking at the horizon finally saw a city outline at the far below.

He began controlling Lynn to lowering her altitude as they descend.

”Ladies and gentleman, we can see Esnoz from up here right now, i suggest for you to start to get ready as we prepare to land in a moment.” Gus then lightly shouting to the back as he announcing the passengers.

”Huuh, finally, it's about bloody time.” Zohar who can't stand the journey because of the cold began to relief.

'Damn, annoying dwarf.' Aurel thought cursely, and rolled her eyes when looking at Zohar.

Dina trying to waking Sasha who sleeps beside her ”Sasha..wake up, come on.” and shaking Sasha's body with her hands.

”Oahmmm, are we there yet?.” Sasha yawning and opening her eyes after she was being nudged by Dina.

”Umm, almost.” Dina shortly replies, then she starts readying her belonging.

While Sasha who still a bit drowsy, yawning continuously and stretching her body.

Melissa and Alfred just silently preparing their stuff after they heard Gus announcement, while Arno didn't even move a finger, as he didn't even bring anything, he just keeps sitting in his seats leisurely.

Fanctom is the one who's the busiest as he focusing checkings his huge backpack again and again.

Meanwhile, Lynn the Wyvern keep flying closer to Esnoz.

Not long, Arno can see the city clearly, actually, the Wyvern itself is still extremely far away from the city, there's exist several kilometers of distance between the 2, so everyone on Lynn's back can't see the city clearly.
