69 The Little Things Matter (2/2)
Seeing how comfortably Nyo and Alex were interacting, the thought of Alex being a great dad to their children resurfaced. The urge to bare his children grew within her. She knew Alex had been patiently waiting on her to say she was ready. But how long was she going to make him wait? Every time she thought about it, she felt guilty.
Once again Zunnie pushed the thought away and continued listening to the two gentlemen chat.
”Do you know that Zunnie sis is single? My mom says she needs to get married before it's too late. Zunnie sis is very pretty but my mom thinks she's wasting her beauty. Are you single Alex? Maybe you can marry Zunnie sis so my mom won't worry.” Zunnie heard Nyo whispering to Alex.
”Oh really, so if I'm single and I want to marry her, is that okay with you?”
”Uhm, but you must not make her cry. My dad told me that a man must never make a woman cry.”
She heard Alex chuckled at Nyo's remarks. Nyo was very comfortable speaking with Alex. Zunnie couldn't help smiling.
”Okay, I promise to not make her cry,” said Alex and pinched Nyo's cheek.
The drive to lunch was a long one since they decided to eat at the Chinese restaurant next to the mall. They immediately ate lunch and went shopping after.
Zunnie bought Nyo all the things he would be needing to stay warm during the fall and a few more clothes for the surprise trip for his birthday.
Alex had accompanied them the entire afternoon which made her happy. She had assumed that he would return to work after lunch, but he insisted on tagging along.
Watching him and Nyo walk down the mall's hallways she had the desire to buy him a gift for Christmas since it was less than two weeks away.
She left Nyo with Alex and made her way to a men's jewelry store. She browsed through a few catalogs and decided she would buy him a ring with a matching watch.
Zunnie blushed as if she were a high school girl, baking chocolates for her crush on Valentine's Day, while she watched the attendant wrapping the leather boxes. Deep down she hoped Alex would like it.
Little did she know that Alex was also preparing his own Christmas gift.
