14 THE BEGINNING OF MANY ENCOUNTERS (2/2)
Since her family were the ones presenting the event, she did not want to be rude, and politely replied… ”So, I've heard…”
She peaked at her phone to find a reason to excuse herself.
”Ahh, if you'll excuse me...I must head back.”
”There's still six minutes left before the auction,” he said trying to get her to stay and talk some more.
”I'm aware of the time…”
”Are you trying to run away from me? Just then you were really admiring them, please don't stop because of me.” Alex smiled as he pushed his hand into his pocket.
Zunnie was lost for words at what he said.
'How long has he been following me…Is he a stalker?' Zunnie Bai furrowed her brow and turned to have a look at the person standing next to her. In case he was a stalker, she had to take a good look at him.
The man was handsomely exuberating a cold yet warm aura. His amber eyes bore into hers making her slightly shiver under his piercing gaze…his lips were plump and had a light shade of pink…his jaw was set in a straight line and he was neatly shaved…Her eyes traveled from his face slowly down to his shoes. He was dressed in a navy-blue suit with a white dress shirt…the two top buttons were undone, and she could clearly see his exposed skin…in his left breast pocket was a neatly folded tree green kerchief…on his feet were light brown suede loafers.
When she was done analyzing him and taking in every detail; then flashed him her professional smile…
”No, sir I am not. Please excuse me,” Zunnie quickly turned around and strode back the dining hall.
Alex was happy that he finally got to speak with her…but she was so quick-witted in running away, he did not notice she was gone until she had reached the entrance. He quickened his steps to meet hers but couldn't catch up. When he walked in she was already seated.
When Zunnie got to her seat she sighed and looked back to scrutinized the man who walked in after her. He was looking at her...He smiled, nodded and sat down with the Zi's.
Although she knew about the Zi family, she had never met them.
The host distracted her thoughts as he announced… ”Sirs and madams the auction will now begin…first up we have…”
