4 Ch.4| Goodbye, Dad. (2/2)
”Alright, I need to leave for my 'lunch break', would you two like to leave the building with me?” Jarres looked at them both, he would very much like to say one proper and final goodbye to them.
”Yes, let's go.” Pierre gave a smile while Janice sadly nodded. Jarres hoped that whatever their futures had in store for them, they would at least have each other if not him. They walked to the elevator in silence. Only after they reached the first floor did any of them speak.
”Pierre, take good care of Janice while I'm dead.” Jarres spoke to Pierre, then turned to Janice and said, ”And Janice, take care of Pierre.”
”Okay.” Pierre nodded, while Janice didn't respond. Her head was down as she followed them out of the elevator.
”Janice.” Jarres tried to get her attention. Her best quality as an employee was her professionalism, only now it seemed to have been tossed out a window. Really, she wasn't normally like this, though perhaps it was a hormonal thing. Too bad, at this moment, she wouldn't even look at him, which had him sigh.
”Goodbye then.” Jarres glanced at Pierre and Janice before walking away, his hands in his pockets. He didn't notice Janice raising her head to watch him leave.
”Goodbye, dad.” She said in a soft voice, yet despite her quiet tone, Jarres could still hear her. It put a smile on his face as he continued toward the exit.
After he got out of the building, he walked towards green street, he had parked his car around there. Getting in, he took his phone from his pocket. 11:44 AM. He put it away and started the car. Where to? B street, the busiest one.
After making his way towards Brownstein street, he paused at a stop sign and closed his eyes. Then he took out a bottle of whiskey, as both an anesthetic and to make the crash seem less out of the blue.
He completely emptied the bottle, then threw it to the back. His alcohol tolerance had always been low, especially after dying. So after one bottle he was totally hammered. Hopefully he wouldn't hurt anyone besides himself.
He slammed on the gas petal without turning. There was a 'T' in the road so he went straight into the wall of a building. There was a loud bang as he flew out of his seat. He lost consciousness upon impact. Too bad this would make Jarres out to be a reckless drunkard who doesn't wear a seat belt, though It's not like he needed to have a good reputation.
