5 Ch.5| Davey~ (1/2)

Opening his eyes for the first time in a long time, Jarres slowly sat up while looking around. He woke up in a bed, on the nightstand was a phone next to a lamp. He picked the phone up without any second thoughts, It had a few contacts. Pierre and Janice. It seems he didn't have to wake up in a casket, they decided to let him wake up in Philip's house. He didn't really care to question how they so easily got him there.

He had a text from Pierre, but he decided to check out what else was on the phone. It had a few game apps, but no social media. He'd have to set a some up it would seem.

He went to check Pierre's text, it read, ”Hey Phil, so we decided to set you up in your new house before you woke up. In the drawer on the nightstand, there should be a credit card with 10 million in your account. Janice decided to get the proper amount of money for you, so that you didn't have to.”

Pierre and Janice were like that, always going the extra mile to make things easier for him. Which is why he gave Janice access to his hidden vault. He had put most of his earnings from the last few hundred years in it, and it was somewhere in H forest. He actually had a few trillion worth of gold and other valuables in there, so he had been living great.

He got off the bed, opened the drawer and checked the credit card. They used the same photo he had when he was still Jarres. Of course, Pierre also sent the bank name and where it was located.

So what did Phillip do for a living? He guessed that he was unemployed, but he could never be too sure. So he sent Pierre a text.

”Do I have a job?” Phillip typed and sent it. He put the phone down after a moment, but Pierre had immediately replied.

”No, you live off the inheritance given to you by your dead father. Also, can I ask a question?” Pierre didn't wait for an answer as his next text was sent, ”You've told stories about how you started many corporations, so are you going to start another one as Phil?”

”No, but I do have big plans.” It's true. He had huge plans, but not the large company type. With this life, he would dedicate his time to finding other immortals, by using the connections he had gained in these several decades.

Of course there was something that had sparked this interest, a few years ago he had heard something about an immortal that he knew wasn't himself. They said that the eternal leader had struck again, however he was the eternal leader but had no recollection of the event. He heard that there was a man that was shot in the head, but could still stand back up. That was enough proof for him that there were other immortals besides him.

He wasn't really sure if there were others like him, since after living so long he had virtually forgotten everything about his origins. Everything but his given name anyway. Arius was his name, he didn't know who gave it to him or when, but he somehow knew that it was his. Living for so long had that kind of effect, especially when the part of his brain that was dedicated to memory, may have been destroyed a few times.

Pierre took awhile to reply, probably because he had been waiting for Arius to elaborate. When it did finally go through it read, ”Not going to explain? Alright, well I got nothing on the girl but I will eventually, I swear. I'm gonna stalk her through cameras and see where she'sgone to.”

”Alright but if you come across any problems, tell me.” Arius typed and sent. He really wanted to know who the girl was. After first meeting her he didn't really care, but the more he thought about it the more strange it seemed. She didn't seem as surprised as normal people would be, making her the perfect lead.

Anyway, soon enough he would be out looking for more leads. He planned to become a private investigator to start, and maybe join the police force at some point.

Arius didn't bother with Pierre any longer, he moved to crouch under the nightstand to look for a charger cable, surely they would leave him with one. Oh, there it is! He swiftly plugged the phone in and stood up. He took a deep breath, then breathed out while closing his eyes.
