He explained to her, trying to reach for her face to wipe her tears.

She leaned back, not wanting to feel his touch. She hated him!

she shouted in frustration. Tobias was just looking at her with shame in his eyes.

She stood up, wailing. She wanted to hug him because he was Toby. But she don't have the energy to do so, because she felt betrayed!
