32 BROKEN VOW (1/2)

Maria was confused, why her boss had a picture of little her and Toby.

She had a feeling about it, but she doesn't want to assume.

Tobias smiled at her sadly which lead to his dimple to appeared on his left cheek. She looked at the picture again, Toby was smiling beside her and his dimple appeared on his left chubby cheek too. Toby's eyes were like a dark chocolate, and Tobias had the same color too.

Could it be?

No! It couldn't be! Toby promised to find her when he arrived back from US.

So that means, that Toby was still there.

She kept her bracelet with her, so that when he arrived, he will be glad to know that she still cared for him.

Maria looked at him again, uncertainty and confusion were in her beautiful eyes. The looked in her eyes tells him to continue.

He took a deep breath and decided to tell her the truth.

'It's now or never!' he thought.

”when I was 8 years old, I'd met a cute little girl. She's pretty, I'd met her at the church. Our first encounter was I accidentally seated on her favorite swing. She called me a stealer because of it.”

Tobias laughed slightly with sadness and looked at her seriously.

Maria felt her heart was in total chaos. Tobias was telling her a story that she knew already. He was talking while not leaving her eyes.

She felt her face burned and her eyes stung. Tobias continued,

”we argued but I apologized. Then, we became friends. We talked about all of our favorites, that included her favorite flower, the sunflower.”

Maria controlled her emotions. She wanted to run, to escaped from this! She doesn't want to know! Her heart ached so much, but Tobias continued on torturing her.

”sadly, we never had the chance to knew each other more. I only knew her name, the same as her to me because my parents decided to migrate at the US. I called her Iya, my Iya. I gave her a bracelet, so I can recognized her when I came back. I made a promise to find her if I came back here, but I broke that vow.”

Maria saw agony and regret in Tobias eyes.

She never realized that she was already crying.

Tobias and Toby were the same person?
