57 BESTFRIEND (1/2)

Minho...

I swallowed. Ethan also sat up, seemingly disturbed from the intrusion.

Okay Cassidy, take a deep breath. Relax. Show that you're not guilty. Go on you can do this.

I walked towards Minho. I hesitated a bit, because what if he saw that accidental kiss. No no. I hope he didn't.

I was stopped midway by Minho's chilly voice, ”Who is he?”

I swallowed down a lot of my saliva. Okay calm down Cassidy. Ethan's a friend, Ethan's a friend.

”Uh, he's Ethan, my bestfriend.” What Cassidy?!

Minho didn't miss a beat. ”What is he doing here.”

”Crashing in,” Ethan answered. Fck.

Minho didn't even glance at him, and just stared at me.

”Uh, he just came in here drunk. We were both Layla's close friends so I think he's seeking someone who's in the same situation to share the pain in his drunken thoughts.”

”You say he's your bestfriend? Why didn't you tell me about him?”

”Bestfriend?” Ethan asked. I glared at him, hoping that he'd get my looks. ”I'm her-” and he raised his arms and plopped back down the couch.

I swear, I'm gonna kill this guy.

”See? He's drunk. He doesn't know what he's doing.”

”Answer me Cassidy.”

Oh no.

”I'm sorry I didn't tell you. It's just, I'm afraid that you'd get mad at me if I have a guy bestfriend.” I looked down. I really am afraid, but not because he's a guy bestfriend but because he is my ex and we are doing things friends shouldn't even do.

The tension in Minho's body eased a bit. He slowly approached me.

I stood watching, waiting for him to get near me and afraid that he might end us here.

He held my face and softly said, ”Cassidy, I thought I'm gonna lose you. It hurts.”

I looked up and hugged him. ”Minho, I'm sorry. I'm really really sorry. I should've told you sooner. I'm sorry. I'm sorry.”

He rubbed my back and kissed the top of my head. ”Ssssshhh it's okay. You know how much I love you, I won't get mad at you forever.”

”I love you too.” And I tiptoed and placed a light kiss on his lips.

”Did you lock the door?”

”Yes.”

”Let's go sleep.”

He followed me towards the bedroom. I told him I'd leave my door open so that Ethan won't feel alone.

When we were lying down, I asked Minho, ”Why are you here? I thought you're busy.”

”I made time. I left my work, since our client has an event. And I can't bear hearing you cry. I wanted to hug you and be here for you.”
