”what the? You mean we can't mingle with anyone when we are in our period? As in, not go out?” Cheska reacted. It's impossible, unreasonable, unacceptable.
”Put apart Cheska, not locked down, duh” Henry said with a pout.
”But why?”
”Blood outside the body attracts bacteria, you are like a bacteria magnet when you have a discharge. The swarms of bacteria in the atmosphere specially those which are responsible for decaying things may be smelled by us, innocent passerby. You can make people sick you know.” Francis explained. ”Besides your blood have some crazy soldiers who might attack us.”
”Are you kidding me Francis?” Cheska looked at the manual and saw that Henry wasn't lying, it was not just about menstruation, the manual prohibited copulation when a woman has her period. It also told them that man and woman shall bath themselves after copulation specially when there are semen's and discharge after orgasm.
”body fluids from another person is unclean to you, such an easy concept Cheska, was it not taught in your planet?” Francis said as he scratched his head.
”yes it was but not to this extent, this is nuts.”
”Okay, I will spit and then let you touch my saliva. Make sure not to wash your hands after” Francis smiled as he talked.
”What the? why would I want to touch your saliva?”
”See, you don't even want to touch my saliva but it's okay for you not to wash after sex? Filthy” Francis was indeed vulgar and not a gentleman.
”That's not the point Francis” Cheska scoffed.
”Cheska, spiritual cultivation is built on faith, self-control, preservation and hope. This is not known as the hardest type of cultivation for nothing. It is always your choice whether you want it or not.” Henry said.
Helen fully understood the concepts that Henry was talking about. Because of quantum scope they knew exactly how hard it is to fight with smaller organisms from the lower dimensions. Spiritual cultivation sounded more scientific in her ear.
”We cannot mate with other species, or our close relatives,we cannot mate with the spouse of our close relatives, or other beasts”. Henry continued. ”We cannot utilize familiar spirits or become witch or wizards.”
After four hours of discussion, Cheska could no longer help but to shudder. Spiritual cultivation is a narrow and difficult path indeed. It was very easy to stray away from it and be tempted by the pleasures of the physical world.
[can I do it? Maintain the rules for life?] It was hard to follow the things that one does not understand. But the problem is, she had an idea as to why it should be done but she felt crazy following the rules. Can she even forget about how sweet and tender a scallop was, or how tasty a roasted pork was? Just the thought about it made her mouth salivate. Forget about the other rules. She doesn't have any plans of mating beasts or relatives, she can take a bath or wash her hands when exposed to germs, but to avoid food? Oh it was a torture.
