4 So, I died without telling her (1/2)

Helen did not dare to look back towards the man again. She was deathly scared that he might recognize her. They did not have any disputes or argument so it was only natural that they will greet each other, have others back and be the best of friends they used to be.

She carefully lied down and covered her head with the blanket. With that position she can hear her heart pounding. The sound was drilling into her ear. She grew up loving that man behind her, she died loving him and would probably continue loving him this lifetime if she can't quell that desire in her heart. She was so flustered that she forgot about the circumstance that they were in.

Francis Rey kept looking around. He was sure that the room he was in was not in his previous planet. So, there was a high chance that he was already dead and has transmigrated into the lower dimension. Since he was not a baby, he was sure that he was not reborn. A sudden pain crept to his heart.

”So I died without telling her that I loved her.” He said to himself.

He tried hard to remember everything before he passed out. Why did he died? Was there a disaster? An attack? Accident? He was not sure. It felt like a big chunk of his memory was missing. His memory ended at the age of 29.

He was a promising young researcher. His parents were also renowned in their field of research.

”But..” his face paled with the realization. His parents were murdered and all their years of research in a secret project were stolen.

He can't help but to think that he was killed as well. But he refused to totally believe that he died at an early age. He can't perish and leave his dearly beloved alone. He promised himself that he will marry her, love her and protect her for as long as he lives.

A sudden assault of headache hit his head. He felt dizzy and decided to get some sleep ignoring the lady just next to him on another bed. Yes, there was only one woman in his eyes and that has not changed even after death.

As he was trying to sleep, he heard a commotion outside the door. There seem to be numerous people. When the door opened, the noise spread throughout the whole room as if thousands of people came to interrupt his peace and quiet.

He opened his eyes only to see around ten people inside the room. They quickly approached the lady in front of him and bombarded her with lots of questions.

”Honey? Are you alright? Can you speak? Does anything hurt? Were you wounded? Have you eaten?” Thousands of questioned poured in, from the seemingly father, the old lady and the younger girls. From the looks of it, they could be her family. He wanted to protest but he understood that they might have been too worried.

He looked back at what happened a day ago. He remembered waking up after being hit by rock or something in the head. To his surprise, he woke up in an unfamiliar place. Before he could process everything, he saw two girls who were unconscious while another girl and boy stood cemented on the ground. At their front were two weirdly looking creatures with a sword and obvious grim intent.
