44 Lover Boy (1/2)
***Vincent's POV***
I looked at Elrae through the rear view mirror, as I drove out of their estate. I tightened my grip on the steering wheel and increased my speed.
I abruptly hit the break as I passed by the park nearby. I can hear the screeching of the tires as I drifted to a stop. It's already dark outside. This place is exclusive for the elite so you can only see a few number of cars passing by.
I parked my car on the side of the road. I closed my eyes and slumped back on the driver's seat. Using my right hand, I massaged my temple.
I slowly opened my eyes and positioned my right hand in front of me. I stared at it for a while before mumbling to myself ”It's been a while.”
I bitterly smiled at my own foolishness. It's been a while since I've touched her hand. That delicate soft small hand of hers. I should be thankful that I can still stay this close to her. Even though I acted like a jerk and gave her a cold treatment, she didn't say anything. She might act indifferent in front of me but I know her too well. I know that she is uncomfortable with me.
This is what I wanted. For her to not like me, for her to hate me but why do I feel sad? Why do I feel heartache every time I see her fake a smile at me? I should be glad, I should be relieved but I feel nothing near happiness as I see our close relationship drift apart.
I closed my hands into a fist. Clenching them tightly, I comforted myself by saying ”It's for her own good.”
I can clearly remember the events earlier. I was in a 5 star restaurant having dinner with Alyssa when I received a text message from the school council president. Kyle Yu is a good friend of mine. We have been classmates since elementary until today. He is a very reliable person that is why many students voted for him as the student council president.
Thegoodlooking kyle: Hey... Elrae alert...
I creased my brow after reading his text. ”What's wrong?” I heard Alyssa ask. I looked up and saw her sipping her wine while looking at me suspiciously.
I slowly stood up from my chair and said ”I have to go.”
”What?” she said in a devastated tone of voice.
