82 Resting in a strange land (2/2)

Ah... right... I forgot to mention, the towel was placed at the foot of the bed, and Charlotte probably forgot to bring it in with her.

”Alright, alright. I'm coming, okay?”

Saying that as I grabbed the towel, I walked towards the bathroom slowly.

”D-Don't look, okay?!?!”

”Of course, I won't!”

I turned my back and leaned on the door. Then I handed the towel through the gab of the door which she opened.

Probably because of the embarrassment she felt, she tugged hard at the towel I was holding, causing me, whose body was leaning on the door, to fall into the bathroom.

”O-Ouch!!!”

”O-Onii-chan?!?!”

I raised my head and rubbed my temple to calm down the throbbing in my head.

”I'm alright, Charlotte... Just let me get up-”

When I was finally able to adjust my eyes, I saw Charlotte stark naked body for a moment and-

”O-Onii-chan, pervert!!!”

I got hit in the face by Charlotte.

I probably deserved it, though...

Although she was a little grumpy in the next hour, she eventually forgave me and invited me to watch television with her.

We watched television late into the night, and finally decided to sleep at 10 pm. We then turned off all the lights in the room and prepared for bed. We left the curtain opened though, so we wouldn't wake up too late in the morning. Thus, the only lights that were illuminating the room came from outside. Although they weren't very bright, it was enough for us to see each other in the darkness.

As I climbed back into my 'bed', Charlotte called out to me.

”Onii-chan...”

”Hm? What is it, Charlotte?”

”D-Do you think we'll be able to find father in this strange land?”

I held her hand and gave her a reassuring smile.

”Don't worry, Charlotte. We will definitely find him. No matter how long it will take, I will help you to find him. So don't worry, alright?”

”Un!”

Just as I was about to let go of her hand and go to sleep, Charlotte clutched onto my hand tightly.

”Charlotte?”

”Onii-chan... Can we sleep like this... just for tonight?”

Looking as if she will cry if I refuse her, I also clutched her hand tightly and told her,

”Sure. No matter how many nights you want to sleep like this, I will do it for you.”

”Thank you, Onii-chan!”

With that, she finally closed her eyes and slowly went to sleep.

Sigh... I wonder what this strange land will have in store for us tomorrow...

And with those thoughts in mind, I finally relaxed my whole body and went to sleep. With the warmth from Charlotte transmitting from my palm, my consciousness gradually faded...
