2 Coincidence or Fate? (1/2)
Su Lian walked to the bed and placed a hand on his little face, staring deeply at him. At first he didn't look too much like his father. He was a good mix of both their features, but now looking at his face brought her painful memories which she wanted to keep buried deep within her heart.
She hadn't known that she was carrying his child until after she left China. When she found out, she was absolutely terrified. What was a pregnant nineteen year old supposed to do all alone in a foreign country?
Luckily for her, she had found a saviour. An old admirer of her late mother, Chris Walker.
Su Lian's mother, Tang Xiu had been born and raised in America with a Chinese father and British mother. She was a very beautiful woman who had many young men chasing after her. When she turned twenty-one, her father had announced that they would be moving to China. He missed his roots and wished to return.
Her mother, Stephanie Meyers refused which ended up in them having a nasty divorce. Tang Xiu and her older sister, Tang Mengying left with their father.
He passed away a year after they had settled in China, but before he did, he had arranged marriages for both his daughters. He said that he didn't want his descendants to lose their heritage and claimed that he would be unable to face his ancestors if they married foreign men.
Although Tang Xiu didn't love her husband, she didn't hate him either. She treated him with respect and fulfilled her duties as a wife. She had given birth to two children, a daughter Su Lian and a son, Su Qiong.
Unfortunately, good things don't last, he had been cheating on her. Tang Xiu found out that he had an illegitimate daughter outside. To make things worse, the girl was two years older than her own daughter which proved that he had been unfaithful right from the start. She immediately wanted a divorce, but died not too long after.
Tang Xiu's departure had left many of her pursuers in America at a loss. Chris Walker being at the top of the list.
He was a young business tycoon who had fallen head over heels for her. He had gone on a business trip for a few years, came back and found out she was gone. He flew all the way to China but he was too late. By the time he found her, she was already married and had one-year-old a daughter.
Depressed, Chris went back to America where he devoted all his time into his business. He refused to get married, it wouldn't be fair to his wife to be with her, yet in love with someone else. He had resigned himself to his fate of living alone for the rest of his life.
Eighteen years later, one faithful morning on his way to his work, he saw a young lady getting off a bus. Startled, he thought his vision had gone bad, but it hadn't.
It was a young woman who looked almost identical to his Tang Xiu when she was younger.
