Chapter 85 - Teaching Some People Manners (1/2)
“It’s been a while, Mr. Lu!” Lin Sheng went up to Lu Xuan’s side right away and greeted him respectfully.
“Yeah.” Lu Xuan nodded and took a look at Lin Sheng, saying, “You’ve achieved good progress in your cultivation. Put more effort into it, and you’ll be a Martial Arts Legend soon enough!”
Lin Sheng was overjoyed when he heard Lu Xuan say that. He probably would not have bothered if it was someone else, so much so that he would not have even batted an eye. However, things were different since it was Lu Xuan who said those words.
Lu Xuan was a true, formidable Martial Arts Legend, after all.
As such, his words naturally held weight like none other.
“Thank you for your guidance, Mr. Lu!” Lin Sheng thanked him fervently.
Yun Sheng then went up to Lu Xuan and said, “Mr. Lu, these are the ones who will be participating in this operation. I’m sure you already know of those from the Seven Invincible Sect and the Chen Clan. Here are the masters of the Dharma Hall of the Southern Shaolin Temple, and here is the head of the Dharma Hall, Master Buyi.
Lu Xuan was immediately surprised when he took a look at the middle-aged monk who was the leader of the monks. The monk was, too, a Martial Arts Legend.
The Southern Shaolin Temple was indeed filled with powerful people. The head of the Dharma Hall was actually at Level Six, with training on par with that of a Martial Arts Legend.
It was no surprise why the Shaolin Temple had been able to stay neutral and untouched while the Chen Clan bickered with the Seven Invincible Sect throughout the years. Having a formidable fighter at the Martial Arts Legend level taking care of the place meant that either side would not dare to act against the temple.
Furthermore, there was no certainty saying that there was only one Martial Arts Legend found in the temple.
“Namo Amitabha. Well met, Benefactor Lu,” Monk Buyi then said.
“Here is the head of the Coalition of the Woods of the Southern Min province—Yang Chengsi—and the rest of the heroes!” Yun Sheng introduced Lu Xuan to the man with the goatee.
However, he seemed rather reluctant to do so.
Lu Xuan realized right away that the man named Yang Chengsi was apparently not a decent person. However, given how urgent the situation was, Yun Sheng had to reluctantly enlist top-notch fighters from underworld gangs just to prevent the Heirloom Seal of the Realm from falling into foreign lands.
While those people were indeed gangsters who had been against the government authorities all the time, they dared not act against the Special Task Force.
That was because the government had to look for decent excuses to get rid of them while the Special Task Force only needed to write a report about it if they intended to get rid of or even kill those gangsters on the spot.
Lu Xuan saw killing intent on all of them, and that apparently told him that those were not good people.
“I’m curious as to where your home territory is?” Yang Chengsi asked right away.
Lu Xuan then said plainly, “Anywhere that is nowhere near you people.”
A cold glint was seen in Yang Chengsi’s eyes.
However, Lu Xuan slapped the man right away before he could retaliate.
Bam!
Yang Chengsi was sent flying from the strike.
Everyone was stunned by the sudden turn of events, not knowing what had taken place to warrant Lu Xuan’s actions.
“I’ll tell you one more thing. Look at me with those kind of eyes again, and I’ll make sure you suffer a horrible death,” Lu Xuan added plainly.
“Beware of where you stand before you even think about sneaking up on me.”
Yang Chengsi was still dazed from the slap. He totally did not expect Lu Xuan to have seen through his intention to retaliate or the action he was about to take, leaving Lu Xuan to slap him without any hesitation.
He quickly came to his senses and shouted, “You dare hit me!”
Although he was wary of the Special Task Force, even the boss of the provincial branch had to behave politely around him nonetheless.
That was because since he became the head of the Coalition of the Woods, becoming a gangster boss. No one dared to be rude towards him, and slapping him across the face was totally out of the question.
