After that pretty long call with Matthew, Renae received yet another call. But this time, it was from Cathy.
”Hello? I know it's late but are you free to talk?,” Cathy asked.
”Sure, what's up?”
”OK, so I'll start from the beginning. Today my friend, Cass, asked me if I wanted to go to a mixer with her as they needed another person. I agreed because I was free. She picked out an outfit for me to wear, did my makeup, hair and we went to the mixer together,” Cathy said.
”OK,” Renae replied after she listened to what Cathy said, she didn't know what else to say.
”I haven't reached the part I REALLY want to tell you about so I shall continue. We reached the mixer and guess who I saw!”
”Who?”
”Kaiden! OK, then there was this girl hitting on him. He somehow got her to stop bothering him and sat next to me. We were chatting and then my friend Cass, she ”accidentally” pushed me forward so-”
Before she could finish her sentence, Renae finished it for her. ”So y'all kissed! OMG woah woah WOAH! On the lips?”
”Yeah...we didn't bring it up afterwards though. It was so embarrassing!”
”But do you like him though?,” Renae asked cheekily.
”Well...kind of. But-”
”Then go after him!,” Renae cut her off.
Cathy wanted to tell her that Kaiden liked her, and not her. However, Kaiden didn't admit that he liked Renae earlier, so could it be that he didn't anymore? Cathy wasn't sure so she kept her mouth shut and continued on with their conversation.
”OK,” Cathy replied.
”Okay, if there's nothing else, now it's my turn to talk! I've been dying to watch this movie, Burn The Stage. Could you watch it with me, tomorrow after school?,” Renae asked.
”Sure, I never say no to a movie!”
”Alright, let me check the timings they have for tomorrow and book our seats!”
”There's a 1500 one, you OK with that?,” Renae questioned.
”Yep, do you need me to ask my parents to book instead? I remember your mum isn't at home right? And you'd need a credit card to buy it online.”
”Oh right! Thank you if you don't mind,” Renae thanked her.
”Sure, not problem.”
A while later, Cathy said, ”Done! Can't wait!”
