26 I’ll prove you wrong! (2/2)

Renae: OK, then I'll see you tomorrow, morning this time... At your house?

Matthew: Sure.

She was slightly at ease after reading Matthew's reply.

She switched off her phone after reading that he acknowledged her message.

Renae woke up early that morning at around 0600. She got up and had a quick bath to freshen up. Afterwards, she went back to her room and left the evidence she will bring to court the following day on her desk. She walked to the kitchen, made bread for herself, walked to the living room and sat on the sofa. Renae being her lazy self was lazying around, watching Netflix while eating a Raspberry jam bread. She didn't feel like eating much that morning. After switching off her computer, she reluctantly got up of the sofa and headed out the door with her bag. Renae was walking towards the bus too to go to Matthew's house and saw a Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe driving towards her. It stopped right in front of her. That person in the car was obviously Matthew. Renae was happy that he remembered that she didn't like to attract attention and drove his least expensive car to fetch her.

She got into his car and greeted him good morning. He looked at her weirdly then said, ”Why are you being so formal? Oh and here, I got you a chocolate chip frappe from Starbucks. I know that you don't really like to have much for breakfast so I got you a drink instead.” Matthew passed Renae the cup of Frappuccino in his hand. She took it from his hands and thanked him. Renae didn't expect that he'd get anything for her. Neither did he really didn't had to fetch her over to his house, nor did he had to get her breakfast. He really is going the extra mile to please her. This made her heart flutter, and the smile on her face widened.

They talked about the investigation before they reached Matthew's house. They were talking about on the journey to his house. ”So, my parents only managed to get information out from the boss of one shop. The others said that it was none of their business and that it was private matters. Though, my mother said our family name, they still didn't budge. OK, they found out from that one person that it should be one of the shops at Bukit Batok. He said that only Bukit Batok sells such cars and such rare number plates. Apparently that car has a rare number,” Matthew still managed to say it with a handsome look. Despite him being tired and serious, he still looked stunningly amazing. He was really one of a kind. Renae nodded as she absorbed the information Matthew said to her.

”Therefore, instead of heading to my house, we'll be driving there instead,” he said calmly. ”OK.”

They reached there in a few minutes as Renae's house was close to Bukit Batok. They got out of his Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe and walked over to where the cars were. There were about 20 to 30 car shops. This is going to take awhile, well, more like a long time. Matthew carrying his tall ice latte and Renae, her grande chocolate chip frappé. (tall and grande are sizes of the cups at Starbucks for those who don't know) They walked over to a car shop. They went from shop to shop and asked politely if they have sold that particular car and car plate number, the same as the picture. Some rudely shoo them away while others checked and found that they didn't sell it. As they were about to lose hope and just have a late dinner together, they walked to the last shop to find that that shop sold that car! The car was under So Min, that must be the Min they know! She went this far! From verbally saying annoying things to Renae to bullying Renae and to even following them?! That's too much! Well, they found out the culprit. What were they going to do now? They have decided to report the evidence they got from the seller and tell Matthew's parents. They will know how to deal with it. And, the arranged marriage can be cancelled! Matthew felt delighted about that news.

They had a quick dinner near Renae's house and Matthew stayed over for the night. They were both so happy that they finally found out who was behind it this entire time! Matthew lay down on the floor of Renae's room and her, on her bed. They were about to fall asleep until she heard a vibration from her phone. She got up from her lying down position to see what it was. It was a message. She rubbed her eyes and read the message. It was from an unknown number. It said, ”Beware, I'm coming for you.” Could it be a message from Min? Has she found out that they knew it was her? What does this message mean? She started to get scared, scared that she will come after her big time. Matthew saw that whatever it was that she was seeing worried her. He took her phone from her and read it for himself. He comforted her. By telling her that it was going to alright, no matter what happens, he'll be here for her. Matthew will definitely get to the bottom of this, he'll find out who the message was from and make sure the person get a taste of it's own medicine. He patted her on her back which calmed her down. She eventually fell asleep after Matthew patted her back a few times. Matthew waited until she was sound asleep and fell asleep on Renae's bed too!
