“Take advantage of the situation. You mean they are from the other sects?” Sword Immortal Great Wind continued asking.

“A portion of them are loose cultivators.”

“In truth, something like this is very normal. If our Heavenly Sword Faction ends up in such a situation, those cultivators living in the Heavenly Sword Mountain Range who would usually depend on us for their livelihoods would surely take advantage of the situation and go against us for the sake of getting some benefits, let alone the other forces. In fact, the Northern Plains is actually quite stable. As Extreme Celestial Sect is definitely no match for Nine Firmaments Palace, it is only natural for the other forces that did not have any deep bonds with Extreme Celestial Sect to attack it,” Sword Immortal Great Heaven slowly said.

“Only, I didn’t think that they could gather such a force so quickly. Not to mention, they would so quickly choose to fall in line and listen to the orders of Nine Firmaments Palace.” Chen Feng sneered.

“Nine Firmaments Palace will only grow stronger and stronger in the future. Although they are taking action in order to gain some benefits, doing so will also help them ingratiate themselves with Nine Firmaments Palace. This will not be the only group we meet,” Sword Immortal Great Wind said smilingly.

The two Sword Immortals had been cultivating for over 10,000 years. What have they never seen before? In terms of experience, someone as young as Chen Feng could not possibly be compared with them.

As expected, Chen Feng’s group then encountered three more groups of enemy cultivators.

Of the three groups, only one consisted purely of cultivators from Nine Firmaments Palace. The second one consisted of loose cultivators while the third one consisted of disciples from the other first-rate sects.

Regardless of who the enemies were, Chen Feng did not show any compassion for them. His attacks were swift and ruthless. He would instantly kill off his enemies without bothering to capture any alive. After his group killed off a whole bunch of cultivators from the opposing force, the rest of the opposing cultivators would flee.

Given Chen Feng’s present level of strength, only Earthen Immortals could pose a threat to him. As for Human Immortals, going against Chen Feng was suicide. The only exception would be for up to 10,000 Human Immortals to gather up and attack Chen Feng’s group. However, such a situation could not possibly happen.

When faced with enemy cultivators beneath the Human Immortal stage, they would simply end it with scattering the enemy. Of course, should the enemy forces suicidally throw themselves against Chen Feng’s group, Chen Feng would not tell his men to stop attacking.

“What a pity! The Planar War is already about to begin. If these Human Immortals can stay alive, they can be counted as a force to be reckoned with,” Sword Immortal Great Wind suddenly said.

“Given their numbers, they cannot greatly affect the overall battle. However, killing one less is definitely for the better.” Chen Feng thus made up his mind. Next up, whenever his side managed to occupy the upper hand, as long as it was possible for him to not kill, he would choose to not kill them.

Despite that, it would appear that the display of strength that Chen Feng showed the past few days had been too great and no one else dared to make a move against him.

For Chen Feng, it was quite a disappointing thing. He found Nine Firmaments Palace to be detestable and the cultivators who tried to take advantage of the situation to be even more detestable.

“Looks like our move has put the other party in a state of shock. This is also a good thing,” Chen Feng said smilingly.

“Still, the effect on the overall state of this war is not enough.

“Maybe I should try charging into the enemy side’s lair. If I do so, Nine Firmaments Palace should call back their forces, no?”

“That will likely be somewhat difficult. Although the Northern Plains is not as good as our Central Plains, first-rate forces do possess Immortal artefacts guarding their headquarters. If a few of their experts come out, we will have a hard time, even with Immortal artefacts in hand,” Sword Immortal Great Heaven assessed the situation calmly.

“Not necessarily. All we need to do is to deal enough of a shocking blow to Nine Firmaments Palace. Besides, Extreme Celestial Sect is no weakling. They should still have some forces that they have yet to dispatch.”

“If so, what should we do next?”

“Continue onwards! Take down all of Nine Firmaments Palace’s important strongholds!”

Due to the participation from Chen Feng’s force, the war in the Northern Plains fell into a state of chaos. In the beginning, Nine Firmaments Palace’s side, which had occupied a sure-win position, was surprised. Next, they became shocked. Following that came hints of panic. That atmosphere of panic then began spreading.

The loss of several Earthen Immortals and over 100 Human Immortals was something that Nine Firmaments Palace was unable to stomach. Thus, they arranged for reinforcements from Purple Firmaments Palace and Transcendent Firmaments Palace, recruited some loose cultivators and cultivators from other sects and even secretly invited some experts to help them.

Of course, surface wise, they had still sent out some men to figure out the source of this chaos. It would be for the best if they could peacefully resolve the situation.

“Humph! It doesn’t matter where they are from. Here in the Northern Plains, we, Nine Firmaments Palace, call the shots. For now, keep them manageable. Once we are done with Extreme Celestial Sect, we’ll deal with them!” After a round of discussion, the higher-ups from Nine Firmaments Palace came to that decision.

The Extreme Celestial Mountains, Extreme Celestial Hall…

Another scene was playing out there.

Every day, the Sect Master, Wan Jiecheng would hold a meeting here to discuss how to fight the enemy and dispatch troops forward. As usual, Wan Jiecheng was once again listening to the reports from the various elders there.

Bad news followed by more bad news.

Wan Jiecheng’s face was no longer as calm as before. Yesterday, two Earthen Immortal seniors who had been exploring about returned to the sect and joined the war. As a result, however, one of them were killed while the other was wounded.

Wan Jiecheng himself found his confidence wavering. Should he utilize the sect’s hidden trump card? The losses that Extreme Celestial Sect had incurred in the past few days were simply too great.

It was then that Wan Jiecheng’s eyelids twitched. Some of the elders there also raised their heads. Another cultivator had arrived. Additionally, this fellow appeared to be in a hurry.

Sigh! There is no need to even ask. This is surely more bad news. Maybe, First Origin City has fallen. If that’s the case, the enemy will have utterly surrounded our Extreme Celestial Mountains. Wan Jiecheng grew somewhat dejected.

“Come on in.” Having come to that line of thought, Wan Jiecheng then waved his hand and a power brought the cultivator who was within a corner of the 1,000-zhang-long hall inside.

The action shocked the young cultivator. However, upon raising his head to see the people around him, he grew shocked yet again. Quickly, he straightened himself and made to salute them all.

“Enough with the formalities. Just give us the report,” Wan Jiecheng said.

“Yes! The situation…” The young cultivator spoke, showing excitement as he did.

“Nine Firmaments Palace, Transcendent Firmaments Palace and Purple Firmaments Palace’s side has fallen into a state of chaos.”

“What?!”

Upon hearing that, Wan Jiecheng abruptly straightened himself and his eyes stared directly at the young cultivator. In the face of his formidable atmosphere of majesty, the young cultivator was forced to take several steps backwards before finally falling on his buttocks.
