6 Chapter 6 - Nine Phases Traversing Absorption Mantra (1/2)

Will-o-wisp contained its shock and shouted ”Zhu Xuan, stop absorbing the Qi.”

Zhu Xuan stopped absorbing the Qi and opened his eyes. He seemed to be in pain. He opened his eyes and asked ”Senior, What is happening? Why am I absorbing so much Qi? I can't control the rate of absorption.”

Will-o-wisp heaved a sigh of relief and replied calmly, ”It's because you are absorbing the Qi through all your meridian channels. Cultivators need absorption mantra to guide your Qi through specific channels and purify their body. Your body is already significantly damaged due to the body's predecessor practising without activating elemental roots and tried to absorb Qi. If you had continued absorbing at this rate, you body would have exploded.”

Zhu Xuan was scared witless. Thankfully Will-o-wisp reminded him on time, or else it would have been a disaster.

He searched his memory and found that every cultivator need an absorption mantra, and techniques related to their elemental roots to practice in body purification stage. This body's previous owner knows this, yet he was desperate to cultivate and practices an absorption mantra anyway to improve himself. Even though he reached second stage of body purification stage, his body suffered significant damage.

Zhu Xuan was still confused as to why he absorbed so much of Qi as soon as he activated his elemental roots. He knew any cultivator who activated their elemental roots for the first time will absorb Qi without mantra. This helps them to identify their specific elemental roots based on which elemental Qi they are absorbing and chose a mantra. But he have never heard of anyone damaging their body severely, much less exploding from absorbing Qi.

Realising what Zhu Xuan was confused about, Will-o-wisp explained in detail ”You would have heard about different classes of elemental roots. They are differentiated from First to Ninth Class; Generally first three classes are categorised as common elemental roots such as water, earth and fire elemental roots.”

Zhu Xuan remembered his second brother activated a rare Lighting elemental root which was ranked fifth among the elemental Root class.

Will-o-wisp continued, ”Then there are rare elemental roots which is ranked from fourth to sixth class such as Lightning, Ice, Light, Darkness elemental roots, which are found in one in a million cultivators. They are considered as genius and born to be leaders of the country.”

”Then there are heaven born geniuses, born one in hundred million, who activates seventh to ninth rank elemental roots such as Space, Time, Yin-Yang elemental roots. They are considered as people who rule over the world.”

Will-o-wisp paused and continued ”You activated Seven Phases elemental Roots. Though its only seventh rank, it is unique in its own way. It contains seven elements in its roots. So you can absorb seven type of Elemental Qi and your cultivation growth will be exponential, compared to other cultivators of the same age.”

Zhu Xuan was ecstatic when he heard its explanation ”He awakened seventh class elemental root which is much more rare than Second brother's fifth class lightning elemental root. Now he will have a stand in this world if he cultivated diligently and get stronger.”

He couldn't help but feel proud of himself for awakening a rare elemental root.

Will-o-wisp looked at his smug face and retorted, ”Don't be too proud of yourself. It's true that you have a rare elemental root, but it is almost impossible to find an absorption mantra for it. Moreover, when it comes to resources for your cultivation, you will need to obtain resources for all your elements related to your elemental roots to practice. So, you will need to acquire lots of resources if you want to progress in your cultivation fast.”

Zhu Xuan felt like cold water was splashed in his face. He calmed himself down and asked, ”Then what do I do Senior?” Without an absorption mantra, he has the risk of absorbing too much Qi into his body and damaging himself.

Will-o-wisp replied calmly, ”Don't worry, I have a mantra which is suitable for you to practice, which brings us to your second reward.”

Zhu Xuan let of a sigh of relief and looked at Will-o-wisp with anticipation.
