106 Chapter 19: Winter, Anise and Jake (2/2)

”I can take care of him,” Meggs said as she walked closer to Rose who looked at the unusual glint in her eyes.

”No!” Rose suddenly said out loud which shocked Meggs and irritated Anna. ”I'm taking him to school with me” she smiled and walked straight to the car before the either of them could say anything. Anthony had already gone to school on his bike, so she was alone with the driver, her thoughts seemed to be swarming as she looked worriedly at Winter.

She could tell that Meggs had not only lost her lover but her baby. It made her extremely worried about the women.

School was normal for Rose she still had Meggs in the back of her mind. She still wasn't giving Anthony any attention. And it seems June wasn't here today. Her last day of school ended like that.

Back at the mansion, Anna had left for a business trip and Meggs was gone much to her relief. However, for some reason, she was still on edge even after Winter fell asleep. She tucked him in her bed and kissed his forehead. Both of their suitcases by the side of their beds.

”Miss Rose” the fat maid had knocked on the door lightly ”The master wishes to see you.”

”I'm coming” Rose got off as she glimpsed at Winter who was sleeping soundly. She walked out of the room reluctantly.

Rose sat at the soft sofa of Griffin office, they were both silents at first.

”When do you leave tomorrow”

”Early morning, before anyone wakes up,” she said lightly

”You really thought this through”

”Yes”

”You're not going to give him a chance”

”I did, he just….” Rose signed ”Griffin in raising a child do you really believe in Anthony can do it” Rose looked at him seriously. ”I don't believe in him, he can't even admit Winter is his son.”

”…”

”I'm going to bed,” she said, ”try to get some rest to” Rose walked out Griffin's office with a solemn expression. She had only stayed a little bit longer out of respect for the old man. As she went back-up stairs, she realized her door was slightly open with the lights on. Her expression turned grave before she ran toward the door nearly slamming it open. Winter's suitcase was gone.

She looked at her bed which was now empty but rumpled.

Rose stopped breathing for a moment before screaming so loud that it startled the whole house and fainted.
