5 Late Night Indoctrination (2/2)
With the intent made clear, Valad was no longer blind to Panaka's presence, yet he still remained doing what he was planning to do. Slowly the nightmares began to cease, a small smile was forming over the girl's pure pink faded lips. She looked truly comfortable.
Yet as he continued to hover his hand over her head, he was tweaking small parts of her perspective, altering her subconscious thought. He was implanting trust, loyalty and quite a few elicit thoughts.
Clever and sly, Valad didn't show any amusement in what he was doing, instead he just kept ablank smile across his lips as he pretended to continue maintaining her dreams.
Panaka slowly holstered his weapon and crept away from the window, finally giving Valad the benefit of the doubt. The only problem was, this was all too trusting to make such a conclusion as several seconds later a notification appeared.
[ Quest Complete: Indoctrinate Queen Amidala. ]
[ Optional Objective Completed: Evade Panaka's Suspicion. ]
[ Reward: 100,000 Standard Credits ]
'Nice,' Valad was almost celebrating in his head as he was rewarded for both quests. He could afford a rather good freighter now if he really wanted to. However if he wanted to gain more credits, he'd have to do more objectives and missions. As long as he could do that, he could even buy himself a Star Destroyer sized vessel.
That's when he got the thoughts going. The blue prints to other ships he knew of were probably plentiful in the store. Even the types of ships which hadn't come out yet. An evil grin appeared across his face.
He could become rich off of more powerful weapons systems and ships, including those which were coming out in the Disney's version of Star Wars. Getting those blue prints, he could only taste the credits.
That's when he paused, if he sold those blue prints and patents, he wouldn't be the only one using them. If anything, the Republic would have them or another Galactic power such as the Confederacy of Independent Systems.
Calming down lightly, not wanting to make a scene, he would gently rest his hand on the side of her head, caressing her cheek. She seemed to smile brightly in her sleep and released a soft groan.
Quickly retracting his hand, he stared at the girl's sleeping face. It was adorable, he couldn't help but be unable to keep his heart rate in check. It was pumping at a trillion beats a second. It was louder than a Howler from Yavin IV.
”Hmm…” With another sheepish groan, she would move onto her back, her hand slapping the mattress.
Closing his eyes and leaning against the bed post, she listened to the shuffling of the Queen on the bed until there was a sudden silence. His eyes reopened and he flinched, his elbow almost bashing itself into the wall.
Padme's face was centimeters from his own, wearing a drowsy expression with relaxed eyes. She yawned in his face and hopped off the bed. Her bare feet pattering on the floor.
He blinked a few times as she gave a single swirl, her white layered gown flowed like moon light on a lit ocean horizon. ”Your Highness…?” Valad slowly placed a hand over his heart as he took a few steps forward and entangled her into his arms.
Padme peaked her head out of his chest, almost like a kitten, and propped her shin on his arm. Her face was no longer drowsy, and she wasn't smiling. She looked like she was about to start crying her eyes out. Even though she wore tons of make up, the last thing the people needed to see was a puffy eyed Queen in disguise as a Handmaiden.
”What were you dreaming about?” His voice was abrupt, uncharacteristically blunt, the question was rushed.
”There was a young boy in the desert, with two suns…” Valad's eyes narrowed as he heard the explanation of the young lady's dream. ”So much hatred. So much death surrounds him.” Her voice took the form of a low whine. Before she could get too audible, she trapped her lips against the arm of his tunic.
