23 Chapter 23 Where Is Peter? (2/2)

We reached our usual table where we found MJ glaring at us and Gwen just studying like normal.

MJ: ”You made me walk to school ALONE again!”

Varen: ”I know I know, I'm sorry. It was a rough night for me yesterday.”

MJ: ”What could have been so important for you not to sleep last nigh-”

Ms. Choya: ”Marry Jane please stop flirting with Varen in the middle of class time.”

MJ: ”I'm not!”

Marry Jane had her face as red as her hair as she tried to explain. This of course only made the class laugh more, even Varen and Gwen were holding in a chuckle. Felicia was just watching all of this with drowsy eyes that made her look like she would pass out at any moment.

Varen looked around the room for Peter so that he can give him a nasty glare for not waking him up in the morning, but he was not in class. That's weird, did he get called to the office or something? Just as Varen thought of this possibility he noticed that Ned was gone too. This only confused him more but he decided to just let it go since he will turn up at some point, Peter is not one to skip school.

Since Varen wanted to kill time he looked at his watch to check on the Symbiote. Before Varen went home yesterday, he first made a stop to the NightCave to set up a monitoring  system. This basically tracked the vitals if the Symbiote to make sure that nothing happened to it. On top of setting all of this up, he also tried to figure out which symbiote this was and how to improve upon it. Obviously Varen was planning on absorbing the symbiote but he wanted to find a way to make sure that his mind does not become corrupted, and to find another way to feed the symbiote since he did not want to go around eating people.

This was another reason that Varen was so tired today.

As class ended and lunch came around, Varen and the three girls sat at their usual table. Yet again Peter or Ned were not there.

That's weird, Let me try calling him. Varen called Peter but after a few rings it went to voice mail. Varen frowned and sent him a text.

(Varen): ”Hey idiot pick up the phone!
