Liu Rui stood up before patting his chest with a face full of pride, ”Heh, it wasn't much.”
”Second, we have another regular, Xie Yao, with an exceptional score of 591!”
Xie Yao displayed a happy expression before burrowing herself back into her marked paper, looking through the mistakes that she had made.
”Finally, we have Lu Fengyi, the new transfer student, with the highest score of... WHAT?”
Hearing the usually calm and composed Yang Boyi cry out in surprise, and in such an exaggerated manner as well, the students looked at Lu Fengyi with curious eyes.
”This...this can't be right! How is this possible?” Yang Boyi's eyes constricted in confusion and disbelief.
Unable to hold back their curiosity, the class began calling out to Yang Boyi.
”Teacher! What's wrong?”
”What's his mark? Could it be above Xie Yao's mark?”
”That shouldn't be. Xie Yao has been first place for years. It's not easy to surpass her score.”
Also confused at the commotion that his teacher was making, Lu Fengyi stood up from his seat before walking up to Yang Boyi, ”Sir, is there something wrong?”
Yang Boyi turned his eyes towards Lu Fengyi, however this time, they were completely different from before. It was as if he were looking at an unfathomable being, a monster, in literal terms. With a shaky voice, full of excitement, Yang Boyi continued, ”Ahem. And the final student, Lu Fengyi, has obtained a mark of 914, the highest ever mark achieved by a person of his age!”
”WHAT?”
The class erupted into cries as they too, stared at Lu Fengyi with eyes of disbelief. It was one thing to score above 500 points, however closing in upon 1000 points was not easy. One had to know that even the best of the best students that completed the examination the following year, would only receive around 1040 points, however they had an entire year to make up for that difference. Lu Fengyi, at the same age as them, had achieved something that was only 100 or so points off the top mark in the state. If he wasn't a monster, then what the hell was he?
