61 Day 60: The Scum Is A Critic (2/2)

The answer, only the author knows.

He felt his stomach grumbled. Right. He thought. He hasn't eaten for days since he never saw a village or town after the last one he went to. The money he has he already done spending after days of travelling. To live for the next few days, he traded some valuable items he found on his dimensional pocket – rings, necklaces, etc., for food. Now he left with almost nothing.

The only things left on him are some talismans and other magic tools which he has yet to know its use.

He sighed, holding his grumbling stomach. He was about to take a step and reach his sword when he felt his body went rigid.

What - ? he thought, shocked, when his body trembled. ”What is hap – argh!” he exclaimed and held his head when a barrage of information flowed inside his mind.

There's only one thing that could do this. System! He thought, gritting his teeth until the loads of information stopped. He caught his breath as he leaned on a wall.

”Can't you at least warn me you'd do this - ?!” he snapped at the system, but as he expected, it didn't answer to him. Just what the hell happened to it? he thought, puzzled.

As usual, he didn't get an answer so he could only sigh. He proceeded to check the information given to him by the system.

Just at the first sentence, his face went dark. Fei Yin is his name, and he is the story's protagonist.

Wtf?! He thought, both shocked and mad. He doesn't have anything against the protagonists, but it doesn't mean that he wanted to be one.

First, too much responsibility and mostly it involves his life. Second, the protagonist gets dragged in too much drama. Yes, 'too much'. Third, the protagonist is a saint. And he, Fei Yin, himself honestly says he is not a saint. And, he can't be a saint.

The saint is too pure for Fei Yin's dark soul.

He grimaced as he continued reading. Fei Yin is the second young master of the Fei family which is the Upright Sect's – the top sect, biggest supporters. But, Fei Yin didn't choose to be with the Upright Sect and didn't enter the said sect since he hates it, much more his family. He hates arrogant and prideful people.

See? Too much drama. He thought and continued reading.

Along the way as he escapes from the Upright Land, he reached the Promising Sect, another top sect. There, he met a child of his age named 'Chen Shen'. The two became friends later. But, their friendship was short – lived.

Here comes another drama. He thought. Fei Yin awakened his power and it hurt Chen Shen's soul, making the other's soul broken and can't cultivate. Fei Yin blamed himself and so he went away from Chen Shen. But, it didn't last long since not long after, Chen Shen ran away from home.

Fei Yin, worried too much, ran after Chen Shen, leaving his family and the Upright Sect behind him.

This is the story's current progress. And, currently, there's already a great change in the story. The protagonist died.

Naturally, the story can't go on with this that's why he replaced the protagonist.

What a lucky man I am. He thought, sarcastic. Right now, 'Fei Yin' should be looking for Chen Shen. He mounted his sword, still feeling weak because of hunger. He still hasn't practiced inedia yet, and will be practicing it immediately after he replenished his energy.

With that thought, he mounted his sword. He didn't know for how long he flew until he finally saw a group of houses. He doesn't care anymore if he'll reach a ghost town. He immediately descended and looked around, looking for people.

Aside from looking for Chen Shen, he also has to look for food to eat and place to stay at.

But, instead of people, he was greeted by a beast. Fei Yin doesn't have energy to spare and so he immediately killed the demonic beast in one shot. Although he felt happy, but he's almost going to faint.

And so he did faint. He felt he fell on something warm instead of a cold ground before he lost consciousness.

When he woke up, he was greeted by the person the original Fei Yin is looking for. But, the person that appeared before him isn't the original person the original Fei Yin is looking for. Instead, it was the person 'he' (Yin) is looking for.

It's none other than Sheng, his 'lover' (until now their relationship isn't clear aside from being mutual XD).

Fei Yin doesn't know how long he stared at the bright moon when he heard the water splashed, making him woke up from reminiscing. He turned and saw the frog went out of the water and merrily hopped on the grasses, croaking.

He sighed and stared at the dark sky. He's been to multiple worlds after that, and every time he sees Sheng, he could only restrain himself and love Sheng while holding himself back not to crush Sheng from his embrace.

But, now... he thought and closed his eyes tight, holding back his tears. Sheng already reached his destination – the world where he came from, where he 'escaped' from. He doesn't know why Sheng 'escaped' from this world, and how. When he finally realized this and asked the system, it didn't answer. It never answered.

Since the moment Fei Yin reached this world, Sheng's world... the system stopped communicating with him. 15 years passed and it still hasn't talked to him yet.

Just what the hell and how big the problem they're (system) facing is?

Upright Land.

Zu Zhe frowned when he looked at the webnovels site.

”What's wrong?” Yu Sheng asked.

They stopped on a small hill to rest. Yu Sheng's lying on the grass while Zu Zhe leans on the tree, fresh and cool air blows around the area.

”I've been wondering...” Zu Zhe said, his forehead knotted.

”'been'?” Yu Sheng asked.

Zu Zhe nodded and looked at the holographic system in front of him. ”The system...” he said.

Yu Sheng raised his brows. ”What about it?” he asked. Zu Zhe already told him about the system that sent him here.

Zu Zhe turned to him. ”Fifteen years ago... when it first talked to me...” he said. ”I remembered it said that I'm just one of the people whom he sent transmigrated.” He answered.

”And?”

”And... I remembered I once asked the system.” Zu Zhe said.

”That is...?” Yu Sheng asked.

Zu Zhe paused, then looked at him.

”Don't expect I'd ask again.” he told him.

Zu Zhe frowned. ”I asked it if I'm the only he transmigrated in this story.” He said. He looked at Yu Sheng.

Yu Sheng just raised his brows.

Zu Zhe's lips thinned and he continued. ”I already read transmigration stories, and it's usually the ones that're transmigrated are ordinary people or the story's readers, and not the author themselves.” He explained.

”So your point is...?” Yu Sheng finally asked.

Zu Zhe smiled. ”Might be... there's another character in here that was transmigrated like me?” he asked, excited.

Yu Sheng frowned. ”You ask this after fifteen years?” he asked, obviously jealous.

Zu Zhe frowned. ”I said I remembered, okay? I just remembered!” he defended, obviously embarrassed.

Yu Sheng looked away, still frowning.

Zu Zhe pursed his lips, letting this matter go. ”Hey.” he called.

Yu Sheng just glanced at him.

Zu Zhe sighed. ”What will you do now?” he asked, serious.

Yu Sheng stared at him, obviously knows Zu Zhe's referring to Hou Sheng – Yu Sheng's master.

He sat up, the grasses that stuck on his robes fell. ”His Highness still can't remember who he is, and that's a good thing.” He said. ”Even Xi Peng died, there're still some other forces left that's after His Highness.” He explained.

Zu Zhe nodded, remembered the man called Li Shan who Yu Sheng fought with back at the cave.

”His Highness, though his memories will be slowly returning, has to make himself stronger.” He told Zu Zhe.

Zu Zhe nodded, remembered him tweaking Chen Sheng's character description.

”But... although he can't remember his memories, but he still, though vague, could remember what he did as Hou Sheng.”

Zu Zhe lowered his head, not daring to look at Yu Sheng who's looking at the Upright Capital on the distance. His eyes covered with nostalgia yet Yu Sheng is fully aware this isn't the place where he belongs.

It's BaiLong Continent, where Hou Sheng will rule in the future.
