20 Strength of a Dragon! (1/2)
So after training in making the footholds in the air for about 10 minutes I have learned that this isn't actually that bad. I mean the hardest part was balancing myself, but honestly, I've walked on water so this isn't too much of a step up from there.
It was actually really cool once I got the hang of it down since I realized when I started using it that around my legs there was a lot of nature energy and I could manipulate it, so I made it create footholds in the air for me.
Hm, now that I am standing here I should start walking, I put my left foot forward while trying to make a foothold beneath it and honestly, it didn't work out too well. I almost completely missed, but at the last moment the other foothold disappeared as well and I ended up falling to my feet on the ground.
Hm, lets try this way. SHADOW CLONES! Yep, I'm going to be that spammy guy who is going to abuse it. Me and the shadow clones all start trying to walk in the air, and each time one falls I unsummon it and then replace it. Thankfully the exhaustion of these guys is negligible since its so short. After training for 10 minutes I finally got the hang of it and could form them so long as I paid attention, but that's not enough yet, I want to be able to do it unconsciously.
I keep training for about 5 more minutes before I am able to have myself at the point where as long as I know I'm walking on air I can stay afloat so I decide to switch efforts to running in the air. Because I did so well with walking in the air earlier learning how to run took me only 10 more minutes, and I would have gone for more but my sage mode wore out so I had to switch out with one of my clone batteries that I then replaced.
I took another 10 minutes running in the air to get to the point where I was with walking before I try to get it to move me forward. But... how do I do this? Maybe I just... I create footholds in the air and get them to move, and since I'm unsure if this is right I talk to the sage dragon, ”Yo! So is this what you mean?” I keep trying to keep my balance while moving around like I'm on a stupid hoverboard.
The dragon looks at me for a moment before answering, ”No, think of it like a gust of wind carrying you or a sudden burst of speed.” Is the Naruto world just trying to make me a speed demon that can travel the world in a few seconds? You know what fuck it, I'll accept it. I'll be the fastest fucker there is.
I try thinking about how I can get these footholds to move me, but what if I'm going about this wrong? Maybe I'm supposed to use the running with footholds in conjunction with making the footholds push me off?
I decide to give it a try along with all my clones, after a few minutes I feel I am making some progress so I look to the dragon again, ”How about now?” The dragon doesn't respond with words but instead nods. Hm, so at least I am making some progress, that's good.
I keep practicing until as long as I run in the air I create a small burst of speed, and due to this step I can now run in the air unconsciously, let alone walk. Now is the biggest leap in difficulty though, I need to be able to travel as far as I want in a single step... How in the fuck does a human body survive that much force to their body? Is it because of sage bullshit? I feel its because of sage bullshit.
Well no point arguing, I get my clone army to start making the footholds send us propelling harder and harder. At one point I swear I could feel my bones creak, and that was going 100 feet, if it wasn't for this regeneration I have I'd be screwed honestly. After training for 20 minutes I've barely made progress, 200 feet is my limit right now, so I am going at it a different way, I am going and spreading the nature energy around my body so that when I'm in this mode I can naturally have body reinforcement.
It's going along decently surprisingly, I think its because I have experience sensing the chakra that flows around my body and changing the flow of it. Now I don't know if it will work like how I want it to, but I mean in theory it should be good. Theories mean that things work like how I want it to work, right? (A/N: This is him being sarcastic if anyone can't tell).
Well after (hopefully) reinforcing my body I start practicing with my bursts of speed again, this time I definitely can notice a difference, my body may not be much stronger due to how I'm using it right now, but it is still an improvement from before. Now I can comfortably go to 300 feet, which still isn't enough so I ended up having some dedicated clones for working on reinforcing my body and only a few actually working on helping me get my maximum range extended.
All in all it took me about 2 hours to finally be able to go 10 miles in less than a second by using a single foothold. Now this may sound useless since if I use it indoors I would basically either go through a wall or turn to paste, but great thing about this is that I can actually control the strength very well, I actually don't know how to describe it other that I just make the amount of nature energy not quite as strong.
Now that I am at this point though I feel a lot more comfortable racing that yellow dragon so I go up to it and nod while staring into its eyes, it then nods back and starts stretching from its previous position before it spreads its wings wide like it did before. I go into the air beside it and get into a sprinters stance to get ready, to start the race the sage dragon blows a small stream of breath and both of us charge forth.
I still can't keep up with the yellow dragon using my eyes, but I do know that I won't make it easy on it, plus I know where the hatching area is because of how often I leave my tags around, so I push myself more that I did while training, hopefully going 20 miles a step, if not it isn't to much of a loss due to how I am sprinting. In less that 5 seconds I get to the egg area and make a launch pad of sorts that I then push off of not just with the nature energy but with my reinforced leg strength as well.
